Leftists deride FLOTUS for Christmas prep in July, despite the fact Michelle Obama did the same thing

Melania Trump’s activity during Robert Mueller’s testimony in front of two House committees caused an uproar on the left.

The first lady sparked a liberal meltdown when she tweeted that she was “looking forward to sharing our final vision” along with photographs of her planning for Christmas at the White House.

Trump announced that the holiday planning was officially underway in the East Wing of the White House and promptly sent leftist snowflakes melting over her audacity.

Though it is not uncommon to hear of “Christmas in July” sales and events in the heat of summer, the idea that the first lady would actually be planning festivities months in advance was too much for liberals to bear.

Last year’s breathtaking Christmas display did nothing to win over hardened anti-Trumpers who lost it over the “red Christmas trees of death.”

Critics lambasted the first lady Wednesday for trying to create a diversion during Mueller’s Capitol Hill appearance.

Others found it the perfect opportunity to blast her husband and his administration for separating migrant children from their families on the U.S.-Mexico border.

Others just piled on, throwing anything they could at the first lady.

Jimmy Kimmel found room in his show’s monologue Wednesday to mock Trump for her Christmas planning.

“As all this Mueller stuff is going down, right in the middle of the hearing this is what the first lady was up to,” he said, reading the tweet shared by Trump. “I know they wanted to change the subject today, but they couldn’t come up with anything better than Christmas? It was 84 degrees in Washington today. She’s chugging eggnog. Maybe after the testimony you just want people to know they’re still planning to be in the White House come December.”

But, as is usually the case with liberals following the pack mentality, truth – and a little research – could have gone a long way to avoid a scathing reality check.

In fact, according to Vogue, former first lady Michelle Obama planned Christmas in the summer as well, and no one ever said a word against it.

According to a November 2017 issue of Vogue:

Planning starts way, way in advance, says Bryan Rafanelli, who orchestrated the White House holiday decorations in 2015 and 2016. He admits that he started thinking about 2016’s decorations as soon as 2015’s were done. But the whole thing officially kicks off in mid-June, when the decorator’s team presents its vision to the First Lady. In Rafanelli’s case, that meant setting up several 8-foot-wide tables in the East Room, one for every prominent space in the House, filled with sketches, drawings, and samples. Then he explained every table to Michelle Obama and her social secretary. “She followed along and absorbed all this information in a very methodical way, but at the end of the day, she knew what she liked and what was appropriate for the house,” he says.

“The ordering, organizing, and preliminary building process takes months, from June to early November,” the article stated.

But the left’s faux outrage is allergic to facts.

Twitter users leveled a blistering response to the hysteria and downright nasty commentary.
