If a picture can tell a thousand stories, a video of Rep. Ilhan Omar speaking on “jihadist terrorism” is certainly more telling.
A resurfaced video of a 2018 interview with the Minnesota Democrat is raising eyebrows as she is seen claiming Americans should be “more fearful of white men” than “jihadist terrorism.”

Al Jazeera host Medhi Hasan spoke with Omar in the February 2018 interview in which she effectively blamed the “rise in Islamophobia” on President Donald Trump and his supporters.
“I would actually come very short of holding them very short of being exclusively responsible for the rise,” the anti-Trump Democrat said. “I think when you demonize and dehumanize it is easy for people to commit acts of violence against those individuals because they no longer see them as a person, as someone who has feelings, is worthy of respect.”
The Muslim congresswoman, as part of the freshman “squad” engaged in a war of words with the president in recent days, came under fire by Trump during his North Carolina campaign rally earlier this month where chants of “send her back” erupted from the crowd. Omar’s election victory in 2016 made her the first Somali-American Muslim lawmaker elected in the U.S.
In last year’s Al Jazeera interview, the Somali-born refugee who came to the U.S. as a child was asked about the “legitimate fears” Americans have of “jihadist terrorism,” with Hasan citing several radical Islamic terror attacks.
“A lot of conservatives in particular would say that the rise in Islamophobia is a result, not of hate, but of fear,” he said, asking for the congresswoman’s thoughts.
“I would say our country should be more fearful of white men across our country because they are actually causing most of the deaths within this country,” she replied.
“And so if fear was the driving force of policies to keep America safe — Americans safe inside of this country — we should be profiling, monitoring, and creating policies to fight the radicalization of white men,” she declared.
Earlier this year, the freshman lawmaker came under fire for another resurfaced video in which she laughed at the idea of Americans fearing terrorist groups such as al-Qaeda or Hezbollah.

Omar, who last week introduced a resolution in the House to support the right to boycott Israel, has repeatedly come under fire for controversial tweets that many have denounced as anti-American and anti-Semitic. Earlier this year, Trump blasted her after comments at a CAIR meeting in which she characterized the 9/11 terror attack on the United States as “some people did something.”
She has frequently attacked the president and condemned the U.S. for policies she disagrees with. She recently claimed that she loves America “probably” more than those who were born in this country before going on to bash the U.S.
“Omar minimized the Sept. 11 attacks on our homeland, saying ‘some people did something,'” Trump said at his North Carolina rally. “‘Some people did something?’ Yeah, some people did something, alright. She pleaded for compassion for ISIS recruits attempting to join the terrorist organization. She was looking for compassion.
“Omar laughed that Americans speak of Al Qaeda in a menacing tone, and remarked that, ‘You don’t say ‘America’ with this intensity. You say ‘Al Qaeda,’ makes you proud. Al Qaeda! Makes you proud. You don’t speak that way about America.'”
The resurfaced video and Omar’s view that Americans should be “more fearful of white men” than “jihadist terrorism” were blasted on Twitter.

She has the nerve to call @realDonaldTrump racist?
Yet here she is once again, using the race card to stoke fear, and trying to sow division. ?
THIS is @TheDemocrats platform

Your stupid comments don’t reflect the fact that tremendous amount of white people died to defeat both Confederate and Nazi doctrine. To label all white people as racist because of a few nut jobs is completely racist. And defeats your own message.

This is getting a lot of play again BUT so many Americans won’t know who Mehdi Hasan is.
He’s called non-Muslims “cattle” and “people of no intelligence”.
This is who @IlhanMN chose to do her big interview with. https://t.co/4s6fhKHGqh

. @IlhanMN is striving for the genocide of white men. Too stupid to understand that her racist comments are not only offensive to white men, but to their wives, children, family members, friends, etc. Let her dig her own grave & take the rest of the squad & #Dems down with her.
