President Donald Trump and rapper Kanye West are definitely an odd couple, but it’s hard to argue that their direct line of communication hasn’t helped this country.

After meeting with the president on multiple occasions to talk criminal justice reform and mental illness in America, West reached out to Trump in an effort to help out a fellow rapper known as A$AP Rocky.

“Just spoke to @KanyeWest about his friend A$AP Rocky’s incarceration. I will be calling the very talented Prime Minister of Sweden to see what we can do about helping A$AP Rocky. So many people would like to see this quickly resolved!” Trump tweeted on Friday afternoon about the matter.

The rapper in question is incarcerated while authorities investigate a fight he was allegedly involved in last month in Stockholm.

Kim Kardashian West, the wife of Kanye who has also worked directly with the president on criminal justice reform, took to Twitter this week to thank the president, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner for their efforts to help A$AP Rocky.

“Thank you @realDonaldTrump , @SecPompeo, Jared Kushner & everyone involved with the efforts to Free ASAP Rocky & his two friends. Your commitment to justice reform is so appreciated,” she tweeted.

Trump revealed to reporters on Friday that First Lady Melania Trump was the one who alerted him to the situation with Rocky.

“A$AP Rocky is a situation in Sweden. Sweden is a great country, and they’re friends of mine,” Trump told reporters. The president added that the work has “already started” to get Rocky released.

“I have been called by so many people,” the president added about the case.

Melania Trump stepped forward at one point to speak on the matter and said, “We’ll be working with the State Department and we hope to get him home soon.”

Rocky — whose real name is Rakim Meyers — has been detained by Swedish authorities since July 3. He is suspected of an assault that occurred on June 30. The police has until July 25 to finish their investigation. Meyers is 30 years old. He is known for songs like “Praise the Lord” and “Sundress” and he has been nominated for Grammy Awards twice.

Many expressed support for Trump’s efforts on social media and many more pointed out the fact that the president’s actions fly right in the face of accusations of racism from extreme leftists.

“If President Trump is racist, he keeps doing it all wrong,” one Twitter user wrote in response to Trump’s latest update on the Rocky matter.

“If President Trump is truly a racist, he’s really bad at acting like one…First the “First Step Act” and now this…This President is truly a great man, who has been dragged through hell to save America!” another wrote.

One user replied to the story, “The world’s #1 Champion of Justice: President @realDonaldTrump! No one cares more about the wrongfully convicted/wrongfully incarcerated! Can’t wait to hear the liberals complain about this one!”
