James Comey thinks it’s time President Donald Trump’s “mob” of supporters be sent “back to their dark corner.”
The former FBI director took aim on Twitter at any American who supports the president as part of a problem that stands in stark contrast to other Americans who are “fundamentally decent people.”

Comey fired off a tweet Thursday in response to Trump’s 2020 campaign rally in Greenville, North Carolina on Wednesday which has come under attack by the left because of a moment the mainstream media decided to frame as the main event.
Chants of “send her back” could be heard from a section of the crowd at the event during a portion of the night’s speech in which the president brought up Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar.
The chant referred back to Trump’s initial tweet on Sunday when he questioned why unnamed “Democrat Congresswomen” don’t “go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came, then come back and show us how it is done.”
The president delivered a laundry list of incidents in the speech involving Omar who, along with Reps. Ocasio-Cortez, D-NY, Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., and Ayanna Pressley, D-Mass. make up the freshman four “squad” who have been wrapped in a war of words with him.
Comey joined the stream of voices condemning the chants and lumped Trump’s supporters into a new basket of deplorables he called a “mob.”
“We have long had ugly margins in this country, but we are a fundamentally descent people, with shared values,” he tweeted. “We treasure our identity as a nation of immigrants. With our voices and our 2020 votes, we must send Donald Trump and his mob back to their dark corner.”
The left has hypocritically never called for any of Omar’s supporters to be relegated to a “dark corner”even though she has been the source of plenty of anti-Trump, anti-American and anti-Semitic rhetoric.
“Representative Omar blamed the United States for the terrorist attacks on our country, saying terrorism is a reaction to our involvement in other peoples’ affairs,” Trump said during the rally Wednesday, as the crowd booed. “She smeared U.S. servicemembers involved in ‘Black Hawk Down’ — in other words, she slandered the brave Americans who were trying to keep peace in Somalia.”
He recalled how Omar “minimized the Sept. 11 attacks on our homeland, saying ‘some people did something.’”
“I don’t think so. ‘Some people did something?’ Yeah, some people did something, alright. She pleaded for compassion for ISIS recruits attempting to join the terrorist organization,” he went on, also noting that the Muslim congresswoman who came to the U.S. as a Somali refugee when she was a child, recently could not say whether she supported Al Qaeda.

Trump did not respond to the crowd as the chants of “send her back” began, but he told reporters at the White House Thursday that he was “not happy” about it.
“I disagree with it,” he said, telling ABC News White House reporter Jonathan Karl that he “didn’t say that, they did,” and pointed out that he continued speaking without acknowledging the crowd’s chant.

Asked what message he had for his supporters who took part in the chanting, Trump described them as “people that love our country” and encouraged them to continue doing so. But his message for the freshman Democrats was markedly different.
“I think the congresswomen, by the way, should be more positive,” he said.
But House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy criticized those blaming the president for the crowd’s actions.
“You want to dislike the president so much, you’re going to accuse him of trying to do something he did not do. He moved on in the speech, he never joined in in it, and you want to try to hold him accountable for something in a big audience?” the California Republican said to reporters on Thursday. “I think that’s an unfair position.”
Meanwhile, Comey’s attack on the president and his supporters did nothing to win him any new friends on Twitter.
I think you tried that in your coup attempt – not in the cards @Comey https://t.co/lJNPzckkjD
