A 21-year-old New York man allegedly killed his underage girlfriend by beheading her with a knife and then posted pictures of her dead body to the Facebook-owned social media Instagram, where they reportedly remained online for over 12 hours. He unsuccessfully tried to kill himself afterward.
One of the pictures shared to suspect Brandon Andrew Clark’s Instagram reportedly contained the caption “sorry” over the dead body of his 17-year-old girlfriend, Bianca Devins.
According to reports, both Clark and Devins were so-called social media “influencers”
The only photos that should be posted online of Bianca Devins/Escty are the ones of her happy and alive. A 17 year old girl was brutally murdered, and all anyone is doing is posting photos of her with her throat slashed. Everyone mocking the situation is disgusting. RIP Bianca pic.twitter.com/VCRZeuAYC1

“Devins’ account, which was still active as of Monday morning, had around 6,000 followers at the time of her death, and she was commonly referred to by her followers as an e-girl — a young woman who uses social platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and Tumblr to post about anime, video games, and emo-adjacent fashion,” BuzzFeed reported.
“Clark was known as @yesjuliet on Instagram, where he had a relatively small following of around 3,000 followers. Leading up to the alleged attack, Clark posted a picture from the movie Fight Club and then a photo from his car, captioned, ‘Here comes Hell. It’s redemption, right?'”
While Devins’ account still remained active as of Tuesday, Clark’s had been disabled.

The authorities have confirmed that she and Clark met on Instagram two months prior, were in a mutual relationship and “had met in person on a number of occasions and knew each other’s family,” according to BuzzFeed.
But after a concert they reportedly attended together in Queens on Saturday, the two argued. While it’s unclear what precisely happened next, Clark was found “seriously injured” outside a vehicle in Utica sometime Sunday morning after he dialed 911.
“Utica police said they responded to Poe Street in Utica after Clark called 911, and made ‘incriminating statements’ and implied he was going to harm himself,” The Post-Standard reported.
“As police arrived, Clark stabbed himself in the neck. He then lay down across a green tarp near a black SUV, police said. Officers noticed hair protruding from under the tarp and asked where Devins was. Clark told the officers she was under the tarp. He then pulled out a cell phone and took photos of himself lying across the dead teen, police said.”
“Clark struggled briefly with police before he was taken into custody on Sunday. He was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries to his neck, police have said.”
The following day he was reportedly charged with second-degree murder by local authorities and transferred to the local jail. The charge carries a sentence of up to 25 years to life in state prison.
Devins’ family members have since released statements regarding her tragic death.
The family of 17-year-old Bianca Devins released this statement. They say Bianca was, “a talented artist, a loving sister, daughter, and cousin, and a wonderful young girl, taken from us all too soon.” Her suspected killer, Brandon Clark, has been charged with 2nd degree murder. pic.twitter.com/duizwvOa8M

“Bianca, age 17, was a talented artist, a loving sister, daughter, and cousin, and a wonderful young girl, taken from us all too soon. She is now looking down on us, as she joins her cat, Belle, in heaven,” they said.
Clark’s brother, James Ward, an active member of the U.S. Air Force, has also issued a statement apologizing for the murder but also complaining about the trolls who were blaming him and other family members for Clark’s own actions.
“Shoutout to all the people who target someone’s family and blame them for a persons decisions,” he wrote sarcastically on Instagram. “Nothing better than waking up at 4am to find out your brother killed someone and tried to kill himself, and when you’re trying to understand and comprehend how the person you looked up to, and taught you so much is responsible for such a horrible act, and people proceed to go out and blame you for what he did.”
“So here I am stationed in Alaska for military service wanting nothing more than to wake up and be back home hoping this is some sick twisted nightmare, instead I’m all the way across the country. I’m deeply sorry something like this came from my family and my heart goes out for the family of the victim, but think about when his little sister and brothers find out what a disgusting thing he’s done, and get blamed for it. They’re kids.”

The most shocking aspect of this crime isn’t the beheading itself but the disturbing lengths to which Clark went afterward to try to gain social media clout from the murder he’d just committed.
Besides posting photos of Devin’s dead body to Instagram, he also reportedly posted photos to the platforms 4chan and Discord. And as reported previously, he kept snapping photos of himself even as he was being arrested.
