Rep. Al Green (D-TX) has announced plans to force an impeachment vote on Donald Trump following the president’s controversial comments about several Democrat members of Congress.
“I will again, this month, bring impeachment to a vote on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives for bigotry in policy, harmful to our society,” the congressman tweeted.

In a press conference streamed on Facebook Live, Green said he plans to force the vote before Congress breaks for its August recess.
“I’m a member of the House of Representatives, and I as a member can do something about it,” Green said. “Each member of the House of Representatives can bring articles of impeachment to the floor of the House of Representatives. I’m here today to tell you, again, to bring articles of impeachment to the floor of the House of Representatives.”
The congressman said Trump has demonstrated that he “is unfit to hold the office. He has demonstrated that he has little respect for members of the opposite sex.”
Green previously tweeted that Trump was a bigot following his comments about Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ayanna Pressley, Rashida Tlaib, and Ilhan Omar.
“@realDonaldTrump’s racism, anti-Semitism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, and Islamophobia can no longer be tolerated or ignored. We must impeach,” he tweeted.
The feud between Trump and the freshman four intensified greatly on Monday with both sides holding separate press conferences.
At his press conference Trump said the four lawmakers “hate our country … with a passion.”
The four Democrats answered quickly holding their own press conference only hours later.
Pressley refused to call Trump president and instead referred to him as the “occupant” in the White House. She also called his remarks about her and the others “xenophobic” and “bigoted.”
Omar accused Trump of overseeing the most corrupt administration in American history and she called for the man’s impeachment.
Tlaib also later pushed for Congress to focus on impeaching the president.
The president did not take the attacks lightly and responded on Twitter quickly after the press conference.
Since their four lawmakers also used their press conference to blast migrant detention center conditions and ongoing ICE raids, Trump tweeted, “The Obama Administration built the Cages, not the Trump Administration! DEMOCRATS MUST GIVE US THE VOTES TO CHANGE BAD IMMIGRATION LAWS.”

Trump quickly followed that tweet up by throwing out his famous slogan, “Make America Great Again!”

The president also tweeted that the four extreme leftists he is verbally feuding with are not good for the Democrat Party.
“The Dems were trying to distance themselves from the four ‘progressives,’ but now they are forced to embrace them. That means they are endorsing Socialism, hate of Israel and the USA! Not good for the Democrats!” he tweeted.

Trump bit back at criticism against him earlier in the day too tweeting that America will never be the socialist country that these four Democrats want it to be.
“We will never be a Socialist or Communist Country. IF YOU ARE NOT HAPPY HERE, YOU CAN LEAVE! It is your choice, and your choice alone. This is about love for America,” he wrote.
