President Trump took to Twitter to tease an upcoming social media summit and ended up with a colorful takedown of the mainstream media and his Democratic rivals.
The president announced a White House social media summit that will take place on Thursday, tweeting that a news conference on the census and citizenship would follow in the Rose Garden. Needless to say, many of the major media players seemed uncomfortable with the idea (more on that below), but that likely only fueled Trump’s fire:

“The White House will be hosting a very big and very important Social Media Summit today,” he wrote. “Would I have become President without Social Media? Yes (probably)!”
The White House will be hosting a very big and very important Social Media Summit today. Would I have become President without Social Media? Yes (probably)! At its conclusion, we will all go to the beautiful Rose Garden for a News Conference on the Census and Citizenship.

In a follow-up tweet, Trump mentioned the “Fake News Media” and slammed “certain companies” for their “dishonesty, bias, discrimination and suppression.”
A big subject today at the White House Social Media Summit will be the tremendous dishonesty, bias, discrimination and suppression practiced by certain companies. We will not let them get away with it much longer. The Fake News Media will also be there, but for a limited period..

The mainstream news organizations are “not as important, or as powerful, as Social Media,” the president added, predicting they will “go out of business” after he leaves office in six years, “or maybe 10 or 14 (just kidding).”
….The Fake News is not as important, or as powerful, as Social Media. They have lost tremendous credibility since that day in November, 2016, that I came down the escalator with the person who was to become your future First Lady. When I ultimately leave office in six……

….years, or maybe 10 or 14 (just kidding), they will quickly go out of business for lack of credibility, or approval, from the public. That’s why they will all be Endorsing me at some point, one way or the other. Could you imagine having Sleepy Joe Biden, or @AlfredENeuman99,..

Those media outlets will end up endorsing him, Trump added, over Democratic challengers like former Vice President Joe Biden, South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg and Sen. Elizabeth Warren.
…or a very nervous and skinny version of Pocahontas (1000/24th), as your President, rather than what you have now, so great looking and smart, a true Stable Genius! Sorry to say that even Social Media would be driven out of business along with, and finally, the Fake News Media!

The White House announced the summit last month following the president’s accusations against Facebook, Google and Twitter for anti-conservative bias.
“This event will bring together digital leaders for a robust conversation on the opportunities and challenges of today’s online environment,” White House spokesman Judd Deere said.
WH confirms it’s hosting a ‘social media summit’ on July 11th, but won’t say which companies are involved yet.

While the president has repeatedly called out the tech giants, Twitter and Facebook were reportedly not invited to the summit. Trump met with Google CEO Sundar Pichai and Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey earlier this year and “discussed political fairness.”
….Also discussed political fairness and various things that @Google can do for our Country. Meeting ended very well!

Great meeting this afternoon at the @WhiteHouse with @Jack from @Twitter. Lots of subjects discussed regarding their platform, and the world of social media in general. Look forward to keeping an open dialogue! pic.twitter.com/QnZi579eFb

A list of attendees was not provided by the White House, or an agenda of what will be discussed, but that didn’t stop the left from trying to sound the alarm.
Looks like the Social Media Summit at @WhiteHouse on Thursday will include: @Timcast @mitchellvii @CarpeDonktum @JamesOKeefeIII @BrentBozell @RyanAFournier @willchamberlain as well as @RepMattGaetz and @MarshaBlackburn.

Liberals were quick to bash the meeting that would include “right-wing media personalities and people from conservative think tanks,” according to CNN.
Announcing in a headline that Trump had invited “right-wing extremists to White House,” CNN’s Oliver Darcy and Jake Tapper declared that “the White House has requested the presence of far-right internet personalities and trolls, some of whom have pushed conspiracy theories, lies and misinformation.”
Some of those on the summit’s unreleased guest list too to Twitter to comment on their participation.
Twitter must be concerned that I am attending the White House Social Media Summit in DC tomorrow. Their #shadowban algos are set to TURBO this morning on my feed. 🙂 pic.twitter.com/BBLsL5xkZ4

And while the left is up in arms slamming the planned event, Trump supporters looked forward to the summit and applauded the president’s early morning tweeting.
Yes he is! God bless him! Liberals always underestimate him. Can’t wait to see this today. Liberal activists, social media, main stream media spew the same old propaganda. Freedom is telling the truth and allowing Americans to make up their own mind! Conservatism is freedom.

It’s weird hearing a guy working for a network that pushes conspiracy theories, lies and misinformation complain about that very same thing.
