President Donald Trump’s “Salute to America” speech was the exact opposite of what the Trump-hating media cabal claimed it would be about.
With many of the major networks opting not to televise the festivities, Trump stood on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial and delivered one of his best speeches since being in office.
Standing behind rain streaked bulletproof glass — required in outdoor events such as this — and flanked by camouflaged Bradley fighting vehicles, President Trump celebrated Independence Day and honored the brave men and women of the Armed Forces in a speech that spoke about freedom and unity.
“Today, we come together as one nation with this very special Salute to America,” he told the big crowd. “We celebrate our history, our people, and the heroes who proudly defend our flag — the brave men and women of the United States military.”

First lady Melania Trump joined her husband, as did Vice President Mike Pence and his wife, Karen Pence.
Acting Defense Secretary Dr. Mark T. Esper and Marine Corps Gen. Joe Dunford, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, were also on hand as Trump paid tribute to the men and women of the armed forces.
In addition to recognizing the U.S. military, the story of America was a focal point.
”It is the epic tale of a great nation whose people have risked everything for what they know is right, and what they know is true,” Trump said. ”It is the chronicle of brave citizens who never give up on the dream of a better and brighter future. And It is the saga of 13 separate colonies that united to form the most just and virtuous republic ever conceived. On this day, 243 years ago, our founding fathers pledged their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor to declare independence and defend our God-given rights.”

Despite rain throughout the day, and to the angst of Trump’s critics, a massive crowd turned out as Trump proudly recounted historical moments of each branch of the U.S. military — Coast Guard, Navy, Army, Air Force and Marines.

“Today, just as it did 243 years ago, the future of American Freedom rests on the shoulders of men and women willing to defend it,” he said. “As long as we stay true to our cause, as long as we remember our great history, as long as we never stop fighting for a better future, then there will be nothing that America cannot do.”
“We will never forget that we are Americans, and the future belongs to us,” he added. “We share one home, one heart and we are all made by one almighty God.”
After each branch of the military was honored, a flyover by military aircraft assigned to that branch took place, including Air Force F-22 Raptors and B-2 Stealth Bomber, Navy F-18 Super Hornets and Army Apache helicopters.

President Trump’s Salute to America speech was inspirational, perhaps more so than any previous speech, and he did not stray from the script.
On the day America marks its independence and honors the founding fathers for the greatest achievement in all of human history, he did not politicize his words and did not make the speech about himself.

Yet, even as he spoke, the Democratic Party and their liberal media allies trolled the president… for being proud of America. The haters desperately clung to imperfections to denigrate Trump, like him mistakenly saying airports instead of ramparts.
The cost of the event was a major point of contention, coming from those who have no problem spending $40 million on the Russian collusion hoax.
In Washington, DC, Trump celebrated Swamp Day by:
1.) Making July 4th an ode to himself;
2.) Diverting $2.5 million in Park funds to pay for it;
3) Taking $750,000 in fireworks from a donor; and
4) Postponing tariffs on China the same day, as the donor wanted.

No better example of the toxic media obsession with Trump could be found than a tweet from the Washington Post’s Gene Park remarking — facetiously? — on how the smoke from the evenings fireworks resembles the president’s hair.

The negative tone of his critics stood out in stark contrast to the president’s inspiring message, making them look foolish.
A contrast that did not escape notice.
Trump didn’t make a single political statement during his speech today and instead honored every branch of the military.
