The divisive disaster that is freshman Rep. Ilhan Omar continues to sow strife into the national debate about the border crisis, directly attacking the border patrol and immigration and enforcement groups as “rogue agencies” and for having racist views.
On Wednesday, Omar appeared on BET’s “Black Coffee Live” and claimed that Congress is “continuing to allow for them to terrorize people.”
Omar did also admit that the current policies and crisis originated with Obama, but in a clumsy effort to deflect the blame away from him, she said that “he couldn’t have the foresight that the next person who was going to come in was going to take it to a monstrous level.”
“We have rogue agencies that have no accountability, no transparency in how they conduct their business,” said Omar. “We know that they have spoken in the most vile ways about immigrants. We know that they have certain views about, you know, what brown and black people deserve.
“And so we should be having a conversation about eliminating their existence, reforming, you know, this — the agencies that deal with our most vulnerable, which are children and women,” she continued. “And we are continuing to allow for them to terrorize people who are running away from the, you know, most horrific circumstances. And that’s one, inhumane, and — and that can’t sit well with the American values that we have, that sort of really clearly cares about dignity and humanity.”

Interestingly, Omar did admit the policies resulting in today’s crisis at the border were Obama’s doing, though she tried to tap dance that away because he had no “foresight.”
“You know, even now, when we think about policies that are happening at the border, you know, some people will say those were Obama’s policies, and I say yes and no,” she said. “He might have thought there was an easier path to dealing with the crisis by sort of implementing for a short period of time policies that he couldn’t have the foresight that the next person who was going to come in was going to take it to a monstrous level.
“And that is sometimes what we get. When we open the door, we allow — yeah, you open the door to darkness, a monster will come out. And that’s how some of these policies have really deadly impacts on our lives, and some of these policy makers don’t get to worry about that or care about that.”
“That’s what you get with people like Senator Harris and Secretary Castro,” she added. “There are people who are like, ‘Listen, there was this one policy, you voted for it, you championed it. This is now what it means.’ Like, can we have accountability for how this was impactful for our communities? We’ve never really gotten that on a national stage at a presidential debate level.”

It’s noteworthy that one of the hosts of the BET morning program Omar sat in on was Marc Lamont Hill, who was fired in November 2018 by CNN following his call for the destruction of Israel in a speech to the U.N.

That’s who.
