Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez visited a CBP detainment facility recently and what unfolded afterward was a drama that trumps any soap opera you’ve ever seen.
First, she claims that she was told agents were forcing women to “drink out of toilets,” but quickly scurried away when asked if she’d actually confirmed that for herself.
Then she took to Twitter and accused CBP agents of being “physically & sexually threatening towards” her, claiming that she “was not safe from the officers in that facility.”
Not only were border patrol officials denying AOC’s version of events, but so was Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, president of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, who cast doubt on the Congresswoman’s outrageous claims.
“We found no soiled diapers, no deplorable conditions and no lack of basic necessities,” he said, adding that the agents also adamantly denied altering the conditions of the facilities in response to negative reports.
“I asked whether or not this was all being staged — did they just pivot based upon the reporting, did they shift things, did they make modifications in order to accommodate or to respond to the reporting? They unequivocally denied it. What they stated was that every condition we were witnessing was the identical condition in the center when the attorneys arrived.”
Kellyanne Conway is now throwing her name on the list of people who claim that AOC’s allegations are completely fabricated with zero basis in reality.
Watch below:
“Chuck Schumer wants to talk about photo-ops?” Conway asked, incredulously. “I saw one yesterday. And it’s called Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez going down to one of these facilities and making this outrageous claim that a woman’s drinking from a toilet, which everybody who has control over that facility, or control for the border patrol has said that’s not true, they’ve not heard of this.”
AOC was quick to respond with emotional rhetoric, but no actual evidence to back up her previous claims.
How many migrant women has Kellyanne Conway touched? Hugged? Sat on a concrete floor with? Actually listened to?
The answer is none. Her actions show she doesn’t believe all human beings are worthy of basic dignity.
That‘s why she defends & muddies the clear and indefensible. https://t.co/NHMeI6Bx5r

But in her desperate attempt to discredit Conway, Ocasio-Cortez inadvertently opened herself to more criticism and questioning from people who find her story too fantastical to believe without proof.
So were people drinking out of toilets, or no?
If people were even told in anger to drink out of toilets, how many people claimed this and under what circumstances?
This is a huge deal and we need substantiation. Cc: @jaketapper,@brianstelter, @andersoncooper, @donlemon

But Kellyanne isn’t one to let emotion Trump facts, and asked AOC one really good question that should shut her up for a while.
How many migrant women did @AOC help by voting AGAINST the $4.6 billion bipartisan humanitarian aid that is FOR THEM?
(She even voted against the Democrat aid package).
All talk, no dollars. https://t.co/kwNEFwSFNR
