If we’ve learned anything by now about the progressive left and their media allies, it’s that they vehemently oppose self-reliance and personal responsibility.
The open border left are losing their collective minds over Ken Cuccinelli, the acting director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, pointing to the actions of the father who drowned along with his 23-month-old daughter while trying to swim the Rio Grande river.
The now-famous photograph of the man and his daughter has been seized upon by Democrats to denounce President Trump’s immigration policies — never mind that there were 3,033 migrant deaths reported on U.S. border between FY 2008-2016, while this cabal sat quietly on their hands.
And the numbers would be much higher, but for the heroic actions of Border Patrol agents routinely demonized by Democrats as child killers.
On Tues, USBP agents saved the life of a 13 y/o after he & his family attempted to illegally enter the US. The teen drowned in the Rio Grande & agents discovered his lifeless body after being submerged in the water for > 1 min. They pulled him out & performed CPR, saving his life pic.twitter.com/LjbgmtfoZP

Cuccinelli appeared on CNN to say the father, Oscar Alberto Martínez, was trying to skirt our asylum process, where it takes months to get an appointment because of the overwhelming number of migrants flooding the southern border.
“The reason we have tragedies like that on the border is because those folks, that father didn’t want to wait to go through the asylum process in the legal fashion, so decided to cross the river,” Cuccinelli said.
“And not only died, but his daughter died tragically as well,” he added. “Until we fix the attractions in our asylum system, people like that father and that child are going to continue to come through a dangerous trip.”
Thousands of illegal immigrants have died over the years, drawn to our porous border in part because of antiquated immigration laws. And continue to die, but that doesn’t advance the Democratic agenda.
Dead children do.
So does calling anyone who disagrees with that agenda a racist, which is the standard response from progressive zealots who can’t handle the sad and ugly truth.
If you are wondering why Ken Cuccinelli is trending…It is because he is the biggest piece of racist shit on the planet right now.

After all, it all comes down to compassion, not that there’s much compassion over a broken immigration system that serves as a siren, calling upon Central Americans to make the dangerous trek north, risking rape, murder and, once they get to the U.S.-Mexico border, the perilous desert terrain.
The lure made even more tempting by the assurance that IF they make it to America, the Democratic Party will do its best to protect them and provide for them. Not that this helps them much when they are in the clutched of the Mexican drug cartels and cutthroat coyotes.
While Congress unwilling to resolve our broken immigration process, the left is quick to appoint itself the moral authority in America.
The assigned media narrative is that Cuccinelli blamed the father, while in reality, he explained that the deaths were the result of the father deciding to take matters into his own hands. Cuccinelli’s name trended for hours on Friday morning as keyboard warriors went to work laying into him:
Ken Cuccinelli immediately stands out in an Administration that values cruelty. What a despicable and heartless thing to say. https://t.co/veeaRKqsEt

Trump has never hired the best people.
He hires people with zero moral compass willing to spew lies and vile despicable statements like this pathetic excuse for a head of a major agency, @kencuccinelli. https://t.co/ZdDFb6SNwK

Give Cuccinelli credit, though, because he’s not backing down from his remarks that highlight the failings of the U.S. Congress.
Responding to the trumped up backlash, he said in a tweet: “This tragedy is horrific and more will happen if Congress does not close the immigration loopholes fueling the crisis.”

With the U.S. on pace to take in over 1 million illegal immigrants on the border this fiscal year, at what point does compassion begin to be in short supply?
What the left and their media allies don’t want to discuss is real solutions, or putting pressure on our lawmakers to act.
I’m pretty sure no one threw the guy in the water. . . Listen, if you’re really that concerned about the deaths on the southern border, and we all should be, we have to stop incentivizing risky actions, seal the border and make people understand that have zero chance of success. https://t.co/SlDj7qSYcp
