The U.S. national women’s soccer team continued its disrespect of President Trump as prominent members insulted and accused him of being angry with women he “cannot control or grope.”
Ali Krieger stepped up to defend her teammate Megan Rapinoe on Wednesday, declaring she would not be accepting any invitation to the White House as a protest of what she claims is the administration’s “fight against LGBTQ+ citizens, immigrants & our most vulnerable.”

“In regards to the ‘President’s’ tweet today, I know women who you cannot control or grope anger you, but I stand by (Rapinoe) & will sit this one out as well,” Krieger tweeted in defense of her United States Women’s National Soccer Team teammate.

Krieger’s jab at the president followed his rebuke of Rapinoe earlier after she said she wouldn’t visit the White House if the U.S. won the World Cup as they head into a quarterfinal match against France on Friday.
“Megan should never disrespect our Country, the White House, or our Flag, especially since so much has been done for her & the team. Be proud of the Flag that you wear,” Trump had tweeted, criticizing the co-captain of the U.S. Women’s soccer team who has been taking a knee during the national anthem as a protest.

“I’m not going to the f—ing White House,” the player said when asked if she would be excited to visit the White House if the team wins.
Trump gave Rapinoe a stinging reality check, tweeting that he had not yet even invited the player or her team to the White House, suggesting Rapinoe “should WIN first before she talks!”

“Finish the job!” he tweeted.
“All he managed to do was make himself look (more) foolish,” Nancy Armour ranted in an opinion piece published by USA Today attacking the president and claiming he was making a scene to distract from Robert Mueller’s congressional testimony.
“Rapinoe is well aware her acts of protest can be a flashpoint, and she doesn’t much care. That’s the point. Our rules of law, our cherished traditions, our very democracy are being eroded by Trump and his sycophants, and drawing attention to that is far more important to Rapinoe than what people might think of her,” Armour wrote.
“Even if it’s the president. Especially when it’s this president,” she added.
A third U.S. player, Alex Morgan, also reportedly plans a White House boycott if a visit materializes.
“I don’t stand for a lot of things the current office stands for,” I don’t stand for a lot of things the current office stands for,” she told Time.
“We don’t have to be put in this little box,” Morgan added. “There’s the narrative that’s been said hundreds of times about any sort of athlete who’s spoken out politically. ‘Stick to sports.’ We’re much more than that, O.K.?”
Team USA’s players are currently suing the United States Soccer Federation in a gender discrimination lawsuit, alleging that “female players have been consistently paid less money than their male counterparts.”
Meanwhile, Krieger may have fans on the left who applauded her insulting stand against the president, but many called her and her teammates out for the lack of patriotism and gratitude.
This is so incredibly disappointing. This is your country. We’ve all lived through administrations we didn’t like.

I think Trump and any future president should do away with this tradition anyways…invite actual heroes who don’t complain about not making enough money; volunteer firefighters for example, they would be honored to meet the Prez and see the White House!
