Legendary actor/director Clint Eastwood seems to have a way of giving Hollywood liberals the proverbial middle finger, a trait he may have picked up from his former sidekick, Clyde the Orangutan.
With more than 40 actors joining with left-wing actress/activist Alyssa Milano in boycotting Georgia over the state’s strict new abortion law, Eastwood announced that he will start production on “The Ballad of Richard Jewell” this summer in the Peach State, Life News reported, citing NBC Charlotte.
The movie is about Richard Jewell, the Atlanta police officer and security guard who discovered a bomb at the 1996 Summer Olympics and saved countless lives — Jewell was initially seen as a hero, before the FBI announced that he was a chief suspect.
He was never charged and would eventually be exonerated when the actual bomber was found, but Jewell paid a great toll in his life after undergoing a “trial by media.”
Republican Gov. Brian Kemp signed a law banning abortions in Georgia once a fetal heartbeat is detected back in May, amid threats from the movie and TV industry that they will not work in the state.
More on the legislation from Life News:
The Living Infants Fairness and Equality Act would ban abortions on an unborn baby after their heartbeat is detectable, around six weeks. It would allow exceptions for rape, incest and threats to the mother’s life. In addition, the bill would allow parents to claim unborn babies as dependents on their taxes and include the unborn baby in census data. It also would allow mothers to collect child support for pregnancy and delivery costs from the father prior to the baby’s birth.
Milano led an effort to boycott Georgia as a result, gaining support from “Star Wars” actor Mark Hamill and a who’s who of liberal thespians.
Actors like Tom Arnold, Alec Baldwin, Lena Dunham, Mia Farrow, Ashley Judd, Eva Longoria, Rosie O’Donnell, Sean Penn, Natalie Portman, Mark Ruffalo, Amy Schumer and Sarah Silverman, to name a few.

With a list like that, it’s understandable that Eastwood, who staged a mock exchange with an empty chair at the 2012 Republican National Convention in Tampa, Fla., isn’t keen on being included. The actor endorsed 2012 GOP nominee Mitt Romney.
A number of major Hollywood studios have also threatened to pull their business in Georgia, which is the U.S.’s top movie and television production state, according to Bloomberg.
Disney, Netflix, WarnerMedia, AMC Networks, NBCUniversal and CBS Corp. are all reportedly considering a boycott.
But Clint Eastwood, who has won 13 Academy Awards and 8 Golden Globe awards, has the star power to defy Hollywood liberals.
Prominent actors slated to work on Eastwood’s film include Kathy Bates, Jon Hamm, Sam Rockwell and Olivia Wilde, who has advocated for abortion, using the politically correct term “reproductive rights.”
Expect these actors to be targeted by rabid pro-choice forces in the days ahead.
