Actor and comedian George Lopez wants President Donald Trump’s children deported.
In a new Instagram post, the former sitcom star referred to the president’s children as “anchor babies” and demanded that ICE (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement) work on deporting them.
“Uh , @icegov ‘if your listening’ you can find these immigrants at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave – Signed Enrique Enpanada the third,” Lopez wrote on Instagram. The post included a picture of First Lady Melania Trump with Barron Trump, the president’s youngest son, and a picture of Eric, Ivanka and Donald Trump Jr. with their mother, Ivana.
“Anchor baby” is written across the images of Barron, Eric, Ivanka, and Trump Jr. while “immigrant” is written across the images of Ivana and Melania. All of them have sombreros photoshopped onto their heads and when you click the post, mariachi music can be heard playing.

For those who don’t know, Czech-born Ivana is the mother of Ivanka, Eric and Trump Jr. and she is the ex-wife of the president. Slovenian-born Melania is the mother to 13-year-old Barron. The president also has a daughter, Tiffany, with American-born actress Marla Maples.
It’s hard to know where to begin with this dose of political idiocy from Lopez. First, he seems incredibly confused about what the term “anchor baby” refers to. Anchor baby typically refers to a child born within the United States to illegal immigrants. The illegal immigrant parents can then use their baby as an “anchor” to stay in the United States despite not immigrating legally.
None of Trump’s children would be “anchor babies” since Ivana and Melania both immigrated legally to the United States and never used their children as excuses to stay within the country.
Second, this is an incredibly offensive post. Lopez is an outspoken liberal and critic of ICE so for him to be using the term “anchor babies” to go after people who disagree with him is pretty gross. Add in the fact that he is insulting two immigrants who legally came here — Ivana and Melania — and the post becomes even more off-putting.
Also, what is the obsession celebrities have with including Barron Trump in their critiques of the president? That is a 13-year-old kid. He’s growing up. He should not be part of any political discussion. To see a 58-year-old washed up comedian trying to make a name for himself by using a child as a prop is absolutely disgusting. Lopez is not the first one either. Rosie O’Donnell also got in hot water after cyberbullying Barron and spreading a bizarre conspiracy theory about the boy having autism.
We shouldn’t expect much from Lopez though. His previous contributions to the political debate between left and right includes pretending to urinate on Trump’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and posting an image to his social media of infamous drug dealer Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán holding the severed head of Donald Trump.
