A hilarious photo of Democratic presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren seated behind her rival Bernie Sanders went viral and fueled a flurry of comical Twitter responses.
Sanders and Warren flew to Miami ahead of Democratic debates
In the Twitter photo posted by The Hill’s Steve Clemons, Warren is seated behind Sanders on a crowded commercial flight to Miami, where the first Democratic presidential debates will be held next week.
In the snapshot, Bernie appears to be reading something, while Warren is on her phone. Not surprisingly, both were seated on the left wing of their airplane.
Making the photo especially comical is the annoyed, sullen facial expression of an unidentified man seated next to Sanders and in front of Warren. The guy does not look thrilled to be sitting next to the Democratic presidential frontrunners.

Not surprisingly, Twitter users had a blast reacting to the awkward snapshot.

Warren and Sanders battling it out in early polls
In all seriousness, things are heating up among the crowded field of 2020 Democratic presidential candidates. After comfortably leading in the polls for weeks alongside frontrunner Joe Biden, Sanders has been losing his edge.
A new Economist/YouGov poll has Warren inching ahead of Sanders, although both trail Biden:
- Biden: 24%
- Warren: 16%
- Sanders 12%
In a recent Monmouth poll, Warren and Sanders are almost neck-and-neck:
- Biden: 32%
- Warren: 15%
- Sanders 14%.
That said, all the polls will change the closer we get to the election, since campaigning season has just begun. It’ll be interesting to see how long the Democrats can keep from attacking each other, since their main goal is to defeat President Donald Trump, whose base is on fire.
Trump’s base is electrified, and that terrifies the media
Meanwhile, the mainstream media are growing increasingly anxious about the lack of enthusiasm among Democratic voters, as BizPac Review reported.
“Why don’t the Democrats pack stadiums the way this president does?” CNN opinion host Chris Cuomo asked. “I don’t think Democrats are packing any place the way he is.”
Cuomo added: “It has to mean something that as Democrats are playing these little clubs in Iowa and New Hampshire, Donald Trump is playing arenas. People were lined up for more than a day in the Florida heat for this rally [on June 18]. He has the biggest crowds at his events.”
