The woman alleging a sexual assault by Donald Trump decades ago says she will not file criminal charges because it would be “disrespectful.”

Writer and advice columnist E. Jean Carroll, whose allegations from the mid-1990s incident were revealed this week, spoke with Lawrence O’Donnell on MSNBC’s “The Last Word” Friday, noting that she would not be filing charges.

“Would you consider bringing a rape charge against Donald Trump for this?” O’Donnell asked the renowned Elle advice columnist.

“No,” she replied.

“Why not?” the MSNBC host pressed.

“I would find it disrespectful to the women who are down on the border who are being raped around the clock down there without any protection,” she explained. “It would just be disrespectful if I – and mine was three minutes, I’m a mature woman.”

Washington Examiner’s Byron York wondered if MSNBC was “hoping for Lewinsky-dress situation,” as Carroll had said she kept the dress from the encounter 23 years ago.

“I can handle it. I can keep going. My life has gone on, I’m a happy woman,” she added. “No matter high or low in it just feels disrespectful that I would bring — it just doesn’t make sense to me.”

Carroll’s bombshell revelation of the alleged assault was published in New York Magazine, an excerpt from her new book “What Do We Need Men For?” which reveals the author’s “Most Hideous Men of My Life List.”

The #MeToo movement inspired Carroll to tell her story, she explained to O’Donnell during an interview in which she detailed the alleged assault by Trump, which he has denied.

“He pushed himself up against me with one shoulder,” she recounted, after recalling how she had jokingly invited Trump to a dressing room at the New York department store, Bergdorf Goodman to put on a piece of women’s lingerie.

Once behind the door, she claimed he began to forcibly kiss her.

“He’s trying to kiss me again which is just — which, stopped me laughing a minute, but then I could push him back. The next thing he did was put his shoulder against me and then his hand went — I was wearing just a black Donna Karan coat dress and tights and it was the work of a second [for him] to reach in under my Donna Karan, threw it open in the front through the Donna Karan dress and pulled down my tights,” she told O’Donnell.

“That’s when I — that’s when my brain went on — when the adrenaline started and it became — it became a fight. It was, it hurt. And it was against my will, and it — I don’t know where I got the strength, because he was big, but I think — I was stomping my foot. I had my handbag in this arm. I never put it down. I’m holding it. I have no idea — the only reason I know I’m holding it is when I got out on the street I still had it in my hand,” Carroll went on.

“So somehow I got my knee up and pushed him back and the minute he backed up, I was out the door and right down the — the steps and I don’t know if I went to the elevator or the escalator. I have a feeling I just took the slow escalator down and made it out to Fifth Avenue,” she said.

Carroll apparently makes New York City’s Trump Tower one of the stops on her Hideous Men” walking tour.

Trump slammed Carroll for using her “false story” to sell books, blasting her for her lies while scorching New York Magazine as a “dying publication.

“Shame on those who make up false stories of assault to try to get publicity for themselves, or sell a book, or carry out a political agenda,” he said in a statement. “Worse still for a dying publication to try to prop itself up by peddling fake news—it’s an epidemic.”

Meanwhile, Twitter users struggled to understand why Carroll was publicizing the allegations over two decades but not planning to pursue any legal recourse.
