Trump says Obama ‘had to know’ of ‘setup’ to stop his presidential campaign

President Donald Trump has a serious suspicion that Barack Obama knew about the alleged spying on his presidential campaign in 2020.

In another part of his extensive interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, the president reiterated that the Mueller report revealed that there was “no collusion” and “no crime” on his part.

“There was no crime. There was no collusion. The big thing is collusion. Now, there’s no collusion. That means they set — it was a setup. In my opinion, and I think it’s going to come out,” the president said.

“You clearly believe there was a group of people working against you. Do you think President Obama was behind it?” Stephanopoulos asked.

Trump responded, “I would say that he certainly must have known about it because it went very high up in the chain. But you’re going to find that out. I’m not going to make that statement quite yet. But I would say that President Obama had to know about it.”

Asked directly if Obama spied on his presidential campaign, Trump responded, “I don’t know. But hopefully, we’re gonna find out.”

The president is referring here to the fact that Attorney General William Barr previously announced that the origins of the Mueller investigation and allegations of collusion against Trump would be looked into by the Department of Justice following the release of the Mueller report.

Citing the foundational bias of the Mueller investigation, Trump even brought up Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, who were once upon a time FBI officials having an extramarital affair and exchanging anti-Trump messages through text and email. Once the relationship was discovered, Strzok was removed from the Mueller investigation.

One messgae sent by Strzok to Page described the Mueller investigation as an “insurance policy” in case the Trump beat Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election — spoiler alert: he did.

The bizarre, yet eye-opening messages shared between Strzok and Page were brought to life as a play that recently put on a performance in D.C. Dean Cain starred as Strzok and Kristy Swanson took on the role of Page. Phelim McAleer and Ann McElhinney (“Gosnell”) produced the show.

Swanson received a death threat over her involvement in the show, and the original theater that promised to put on the show back out at the last minute due to “security concerns.” Don’t ever let anyone tell you liberals aren’t allergic to the truth in 2019…

“You look at Strzok and Page [and] they’re talking about an ‘insurance policy’ just in case she [Hillary Clinton] loses. That [the Mueller investigation] was the insurance policy,” Trump said.

He then added, “I went through the insurance policy.”

In the interview, which aired on ABC’s “The Week,” the president also made clear once more that he is not guilty of the obstruction of justice that Democrats are accusing him of and he never tried to fire Mueller during the investigation into alleged collusion.

“Number one, I was never going to fire Mueller. I never suggested firing Mueller,” Trump said.
