Former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee clapped back at CNN’s anti-Trump contributor David Axelrod for attacking his daughter Sarah Sanders.
Shortly after Sanders announced that she was stepping down as White House press secretary, Axelrod reacted by saying she’ll be remembered as “the spokesperson for a habitual liar.” Axelrod further ranted that Sanders’ legacy was “defending the indefensible.”
Irony alert: Former Obama aide calls someone else a liar
Axelrod huffed: “If you are the spokesperson for a habitual liar, it’s like being fire marshal for a pyromaniac. In this job, she was called upon to choose between her fidelity to Trump and her fidelity to the truth. And she chose Trump. Her legacy is one of defending the indefensible.”
That’s pretty funny coming from David Axelrod, a former senior adviser for Barack Obama, who had an eight-year history of lying.

Huckabee: CNN shills get paid to hate Trump
Sanders’ father, Mike Huckabee, slammed Axelrod, calling his comments ridiculous but not surprising considering he works at CNN.
Huckabee told Fox News host Martha MacCallum: “The truth is people that don’t like Donald Trump don’t like my daughter. And it’s not that they don’t like her [personally], because most of them don’t even know her. They just don’t like President Trump. And that’s unfortunate, because a lot of us do like him and we are grateful for what he is doing.”
He continued: “I’m a little surprised this came out of Axelrod. He knows better. I am really shocked and surprised that he would go there to that degree. But, again, he is a CNN contributor. They pay people to hate President Trump. So I guess he earned his paycheck on that particular segment.”

Huckabee: I’d love if Sarah ran for Arkansas governor
As BizPac Review reported, Sarah Sanders announced that she is leaving her job as White House press secretary after two years. Sanders, who has three small children, is moving back home to Arkansas.
While Sarah has not announced her next career move, President Trump fueled speculation when he said, “I hope she decides to run for Governor of Arkansas — she would be fantastic.”
When asked whether his daughter is planning to follow in his footsteps by being Arkansas governor, Mike Huckabee says he’d love it if she would run and thinks she’d be great in the job. Huckabee was governor from 1996 to 2007.
“I would be thrilled to death if she decided to do that,” Huckabee gushed. “She probably is the only person ever-moving into the Governor’s Mansion who had lived there before, so I think it would be kind of interesting. She knows where all the bodies are buried. I think she helped bury some, quite frankly.”

However, Huckabee says he doesn’t know what his daughter plans to do next. For now, he says her top priority is spending time with her children.
“I don’t know what she is going to do,” Huckabee said. “She hasn’t had time to come up for air in the past three or four years. She is going to spend some time with her children. She is going to reassess and decide what’s next. She is so grateful to the president for the opportunity she had. She loves this president, is very loyal to him, and didn’t leave because of anything negative. It’s a tough job and she has three small children and thought it was the great time to make the move.”
