Code Pink, the radically far-left group whose cognitively dissonant members think President Donald Trump is a dictator but love themselves Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro, reportedly intends to protest the president’s Lincoln Memorial address on Independence Day.
The group’s plan involves importing a “Baby Trump” balloon and flying it over “any open grassy area nearest to [the] Lincoln Memorial,” according to a permit application reviewed by The Washington Post. The goal? Presumably to aggravate Trump and his supporters?
There’s just one problem …
From the looks of it, Trump and his supporters reportedly love “Baby Trump.” Yes, it was concocted by British anti-Trumpers in a bid to mock the president, but, one, it’s adorably cute, and two, most Trump supporters have a “yuge” sense of humor — much unlike most anti-Trump neurotics.
Observe the reaction on social media to Code Pink’s planned protest:
As @IngrahamAngle said, Trump loves balloons and loves babies, right Pres. @realDonaldTrump? https://t.co/ujz8xkLEIX

The baby Trump balloon is actually kinda cute. It doesn’t bother me at all if they want to fly it. ?♀️

Keep in mind that the folks seen above are all avid Trump supporters.
What remains unclear is whether Code Pink will actually be allowed to fly “Baby Trump” over Lincoln Memorial. Filed Monday, their permit may not be approved, though it likely will be.
“The Park Service has permitted a protest-by-balloon before: In 2017, an inflatable 30-foot-tall chicken with a golden head of coifed hair meant to look like Trump’s was displayed on the Ellipse south of the White House,” the Post notes.
“No other protest organizers have requested a permit from the Park Service for July 4. Such requests are handled on a first-come, first-serve basis, Park Service spokesman Mike Litterst said.”
Speaking with the Post, Code Pink co-director Ariel Gold expressed her dismay at the president of the United States being allowed to deliver an address on Independence Day (rolling eyes).
“We’re appalled that Trump is taking that day to spew his hateful and racist rhetoric … and we really hope this gets canceled, too,” she said.
The president had previously planned to hold a military parade at Lincoln Memorial, but those plans were eventually scrapped due to the high costs. When the Trump administration confirmed last week that he’ll instead deliver a speech from the Lincoln Memorial on the 4th, Democrats reportedly pounced, and Code Pink quickly followed suit.
“The president is shifting the 4th of July festivities to celebrate his administration,” Code Pink co-founder Medea Benjamin said in a statement to The Hill. “We will bring together people opposed to the pain and suffering caused by this administration, from family separation at the border to supplying weapons used by Saudi Arabia to kill Yemeni children.”
Continuing her statement to the Post, Gold added that she and her peers view “Baby Trump” as “an image of Trump’s behavior, which is, as we all know, unpredictable and prone to tantrums about things that are really, really dangerous. It’s a way of saying, we really need an adult in the White House.”
That’s an ironic statement, given that flying a silly balloon over a dignified Independence Day event signifies a stunning lack of adulthood, as noted by social media users:
Because nothing says let’s celebrate Independence Day like petty, immature snowflakes wanting to fly a Trump balloon? https://t.co/NxKdLoQs9X

That’s nice. Have they figured out that nobody gives a ? about their little tantrums?

if only everybody had a trump balloon. and everybody waved them in the sky. it would still do absolutely nothing.

The latter two users above made a great point. It’s unlikely that this stunt will earn the group, let alone Democrats in general, any new allies. If anything, the stunt will only further alienate those Americans who have chosen for whatever reason to proudly back the president.
Americans like deceased Newman Police Department Cpl. Ronil Singh’s brother and widow. Both are fervent supporters of the president because, unlike the Democrats, he cares about Americans who’ve lost loved ones to illegal alien crime.
“You’re the only one that actually reached out and gave your condolences to the family, and it actually means a lot to all of our law enforcement families that are here for the sacrifice my husband and his brothers and sisters have given,” Singh’s widow, Anamika Singh, said during 38th Annual National Peace Officers’ Memorial Service on Capitol Hill last month.
“This man over here, the Singh family supports him, whatever he is doing for the law enforcement, we support him,” Singh’s brother, Reggie Singh, added. “His team at the White House has reached out to us multiple times … this man is amazing and my family supports him.”
Listen:
It’s unclear why leftist groups such as Code Pink care more about allegedly separated illegal alien families and allegedly dead Yemeni children than they do about their own compatriots.
