Just when you think things couldn’t get any worse for disgraced actor Jussie Smollett, the release of 470 pages of previously sealed Chicago Police Department files show the actor’s relationship with the Nigerian trainer and his brother may have had more to do with drugs than physical training.
The documents include text messages that suggest the “Empire star” repeatedly asked Ola and Abel Osundairo, who later told police Smollett paid them $3,500 to stage the fake hate crime, for cocaine, ecstasy, and marijuana.
According to police, Smollett used Venmo and Paypal to pay for the transactions.

Smollett exploded on the front pages in January when he filed a police report alleging that he was attacked by two men wearing masks, who beat him, put a rope around his neck and poured bleach on him.
An openly gay black man, Smollett tried to pin the attack on Trump supporters, saying his attackers, who he claimed were white, made racist and homophobic comments and yelled “This is MAGA country.”
And it’s in this supplemental police report the “MAGA” acronym shows up. Smollett tells detectives the attackers yelled “this is MAGA country n*****”

Police say he staged the whole episode, down to the final detail, and later arrested the Osundairo brothers. Smollett’s motivation was said to be to generate publicity to help advance his career.
In September 2018, Smollett texted Abimbola Osundairo, “N*gga, you still got a molly connect? Hahahaha… Imma need a good fo pills Haha.”

In the September texts about ‘molly’ and ‘whitney, Smollett asked Abel where he was and asks if the wanted to come over.
‘You wanna come through? If not I can get it tomorrow,’ he writes.
‘I’m falling asleep,’he responded. ‘You can get it tomorrow.’
‘No doubt,’ Smollett wrote back.
Documents state that Smollett and one of the Nigerian brothers began texting on February 24, 2018.
After their exchange about ‘molly’ and ‘whitney’, Smollett sent Abel $200 on Venmo.
After the Osundairo brothers were arrested, Smollett was shown photos of them and, according to the released documents, told police “it can’t be them. They are black as sin.”
“We don’t have any issues,” Smollett added. “They are straight so we don’t have any problems with women or men. They did not owe me any money, I don’t owe them any money. We have a good relationship.”
The documents also show that police put together multiple line-ups of suspects, but through his attorney, Smollett refused to take part in them — it’s not clear if he ever saw a line-up.

The Smollett saga will continue to play out in the days to come.
More information is expected to be released by Chicago police over the next couple of weeks, spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said in a statement to Fox News.
Handwritten detective notes, subpoena records and ancillary material is expected to be released by the end of next week — to include what the Osundairo brothers said in their interviews with police.
“The final release will be pertinent video files that require a heavy amount of digital redaction for things like license plates of unrelated vehicles and the blurring of faces of individuals not involved in the criminal investigation,” Guglielmi said. “We hope to have that completed by the week after next.”
With the new information coming out, social media users could better understand why local prosecutors were so quick to sweep the whole case under the rug.
