The Trump administration reportedly plans to use the “tremendous powers” of the 212-year-old Insurrection Act to boot illegal aliens from the United States.
“We’re doing the Insurrection Act,” one unnamed official confirmed to The Daily Caller
Signed into law by then-President Thomas Jefferson in 1807, the law allows the president to deploy military troops to root out “unlawful obstructions, combinations, or assemblages, or rebellion against the authority of the United States,” according to the Legal Information Institute.
You can learn more about the act below:
It was last used by then-President George H.W. Bush in 1992 to deal with the Los Angeles riots, which had spawned following the acquittal of the four officers involved in Rodney King’s beating.
While the administration hasn’t issued any official announcements about the Insurrection Act plan, the president did hint at it in a tweet Friday morning:
All people that are illegally coming into the United States now will be removed from our Country at a later date as we build up our removal forces and as the laws are changed. Please do not make yourselves too comfortable, you will be leaving soon!

According to The Daily Caller’s sources, the president is also mulling officially declaring the United States full and using that to argue that the U.S. can’t handle anymore illegal aliens.
“If you take a ship and it holds 1,000 people maximum — one more person and the ship is going to collapse,” one official said. “The country is full. Our hospitals are full, our detention centers are full.”
President Donald Trump said something similar last month.
“The system is full. We can’t take you anymore. Whether it’s asylum, whether it’s anything you want, it’s illegal migration, we can’t take you anymore,” he said in a statement at the time.
“Our country is full, our area’s full, the sector is full. We can’t take you anymore, I’m sorry, can’t happen. So turn around, that’s the way it is.”
Listen to the full statement below:
He wasn’t wrong. Thanks to both an influx of roughly 75,000 illegals per month and a reduction in available immigration enforcement resources, overcrowding continues to spiral out of control.
Just last weekend The Washington Post confirmed that overcrowding at certain U.S. Border Patrol stations has become so severe that officials “have taken the rare step of using aircraft to relocate migrants to other areas of the border simply to begin processing them.”
“Homeland Security officials requested the aircraft because Border Patrol urgently needs to move single adults out of the lower Rio Grande Valley of South Texas. The agency is scrambling to make room for the large volume of families and children who have come across the border in dramatically higher numbers in the past several days, officials said.”
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials have likewise confirmed that over 100,000 illegal alien families were released between January and March alone because of a lack of detention space.

Were the president to use the Insurrection Act to boot illegals from the states, he’d likely face an immediate legal challenge. However, Trump administration officials pointed to the Supreme Court’s ruling on the president’s travel ban as evidence that the move would ultimately prevail.
The latest announcement comes amid a flurry of other actions being taken by the administration. Last week the Department of Housing and Urban Development proposed a new rule that would limit the government’s taxpayer-funded subsidized housing services to only bona-fide American citizens.
“There is an affordable housing crisis in this country, and we need to make certain our scarce public resources help those who are legally entitled to it,” HUD Secretary Ben Carson said at the time.
“Given the overwhelming demand for our programs, fairness requires that we devote ourselves to legal residents who have been waiting, some for many years, for access to affordable housing.”
The plan won immediate praise from conservatives who’ve long been critical of the federal government’s habit of wasting taxpayer money and resources to pay for the lifestyles of illegal aliens.
The administration’s latest announcement seems to have provoked a similar response:

Excellent news! Hardcore? I would say the overwhelming physical invasion of the US border is what is “hardcore”. It is indeed time to remove every single illegal in the nation, amd restore law and order, as well as election integrity.

All this also comes amid a notable uptick in high-profile illegal alien crime. This week an illegal alien serial killer from Kenya was charged with murdering 11 elderly woman. Weeks earlier an illegal alien living in Tennessee was charged with beating a 4-month-old baby to death.
While U.S. citizens have been known to commit similar crimes, the fact remains that the crimes of these illegals would never have occurred had they not been in the states in the first place.
