Pelosi allows Rashida Tlaib to preside over House floor amid flurry of anti-Semitic accusations

On Wednesday House Speaker Nancy Pelosi allowed anti-Semitic Muslim Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib to preside over the House floor, never mind her shocking historical revisionism, her glaring disdain for Israel and her very public endorsement of Islamic terrorism.

While the left-wing commentators at CNN were quick to celebrate Tlaib “becoming the first Muslim woman to preside over the House floor,” what’s far more notable — and equally disturbing — is the congresswoman’s newfound status as the first presumably anti-Semitic bigot to do as such.

The 42-year-old Muslim congresswoman’s latest bout of bigotry occurred during a recent interview in which she described experiencing a “calming feeling” whenever she thinks about the Holocaust, in part because in its aftermath, the Palestinians allegedly helped create “a safe haven for Jews.”

What she said was a glaring lie — one so appalling that even CNN called her out for it.

“Palestinian leaders at the time allied themselves with Hitler and … total war is how the Arab world reacted to the declaration of Israeli independence,” CNN’s John King noted at the time.

Aaron David Miller, a Middle East analyst, concurred.

“The reality is that the Arabs in Palestine, Haj Amin el-Husseini, the grand mufti, in Nazi Germany, collaborating and cooperating with the Nazis about what would happen if Rommel’s 3rd Korps had actually been successful in Egypt and been present in Palestine,” he said. “They were considering extermination of the entire Jewish community there as well.”

Listen:

In response to Tlaib’s anti-Semitic fiction and insanely disrespectful use of words, congressional Republicans demanded Pelosi “finally take action.” Why “finally?” Because it wasn’t the first — nor will it likely be the last — example of Tlaib and her freshmen peers practicing anti-Semitism.

House Minority Whip Steve Scalise denounced the “twisted and disgusting” remark in a statement, adding that there’s nothing calming about millions of Jews being murdered.

“[T]his is far from the first display of heinous anti-Semitic comments coming from Democrat House members this year, and it’s clear this is now the norm for their caucus. It’s long past time for Speaker Pelosi to take swift action and make it clear that these vile comments have no place in Congress.”

House Republican Conference chair Liz Cheney concurred, saying in a statement that it’s time for congressional Democrats leaders “to finally take action against Representative Tlaib and other members of the Democratic caucus who are spreading vile anti-Semitism.”

Pelosi took action alright (note Tlaib’s smug grin):

This stunning performance happened only days after another controversial Democrat — Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez — was also allowed to wield the gavel.

Her appearance at the House’s helm admittedly triggered more mockery than condemnation, with some opining that it was like a parent letting a child sit in the driver’s seat and pretend to drive.

Watch some of AOC at the helm below:

Ocasio-Cortez is, arguably, an idiot, but she’s not necessarily a bigot. The same cannot be said of Imam Omar Suleiman, a militant anti-Semite who was allowed by Pelosi last Thursday to not only stand at the front of the House but to even deliver the legislative body’s opening prayer.

But while his appearance in the House attracted fervent condemnation from congressional Republicans,  it spurred applause from anti-Semites, including notorious Democrat-allied anti-Semite Linda Sarsour and anti-Semitic Congresswoman Ilhan Omar.

It could be argued that Omar is even more of an anti-Semite than Tlaib. She’s accused members of the Jewish-American community of holding dual loyalties, berated a Jewish-American diplomat and smeared the American Israel Public Affairs Committee.

While she hasn’t wielded the speaker’s gavel yet, it’s only a matter of time. In the meanwhile, she’s been busy deriding Texas Sen. Ted Cruz while simultaneously claiming victim status over free speech.

Observe:

The only pirates the Somalian-American legislator might conceivably know are the Somali pirates who terrorize ships — including U.S. ships — off the coast of Somalia.

Omar has previously expressed support for Islamic State terrorists. In 2016, the then-newly elected Minnesota state representative wrote in a letter to Judge Michael Davis asking that he show “compassion” to defendants accused of having tried to join the Islamic State.

It’s unclear if either she or Tlaib — or both, ideally — will ever be held accountable by Pelosi.
