WaPo claims GOP is secretly upset at Jared Kushner’s explanation of Trump immigration plan, cites Susan Collins

Some Republican lawmakers were reportedly unsatisfied with Jared Kushner’s responses to their questions concerning President Trump’s plans to overhaul the alarming illegal-immigration crisis roiling the United States.

“He’s in his own little world,” one anonymous source told the Washington Post. “He didn’t give many details about what was in [his plan]. And there were a number of instances where people had to step in and answer questions because he couldn’t.”

Kushner’s proposal would create a merit-based immigration system that prioritizes high-skilled workers and require immigrants to pass a civics test before entering the country.

Jared reportedly did not address how the administration would deal with the millions of illegal immigrants currently in the U.S.

Kushner said President Trump would reveal details of his immigration plan in a forthcoming speech.

“Republican” Senator Susan Collins — a frequent Trump critic who often sides with Democrats — says she’s upset because Trump’s immigration plan does not address the 11 million DREAMers that are currently in the United States illegally.

“I am concerned about the fate of the DACA young people. They cannot be excluded from any immigration package,” Senator Collins lamented.

DREAMers (an acronym for Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors Act) is the euphemism for the (now adult) children of illegal aliens who snuck into the United States illegally — usually by jumping the border.

New plan would end visa lottery program

Currently, 66% of immigrants are admitted based on family connections, while only 12% are admitted based on employment and skills. Under the new plan:

  • 57% would be admitted based on employment and skills.
  • 33% would be admitted based on family connections.
  • 10% of immigrants would be admitted based on humanitarian grounds.
  • Visa lottery program would end.

Trump wants to prioritize high-skilled immigrants

Democrats want to make all 11 million DREAMers citizens at some point, presumably so they can vote and ensure a Democratic monopoly on the U.S. government for decades to come.

Some Republican senators praised the Trump administration for wanting to prioritize high-skilled workers in light of the mass throng of low-skilled illegal aliens flooding the border right now (and have been for decades).

The White House disputed the Washington Post’s negative characterization of the Republicans’ reaction to Jared Kusher’s presentation.

“This is a detailed proposal that we can unify Republicans around,” a White House official said. “That gives us a much stronger position to then discuss other things.”

A Kusher ally also trashed the Washington Post story as  “nonsense.” As BizPac Review reported, President Trump is battling Democrats over his reported plans to deport thousands of migrant “families” in a dozen U.S. cities.

President Trump wants to discourage illegal aliens from using children as props in order to jump the line ahead of legal immigrants. But Democrats (and some Republicans) oppose the plan because they’re worried about left-wing public outrage.

Trump’s senior policy adviser Stephen Miller and ICE Deputy Director Matthew Albence both support this plan, saying detaining and deporting illegal-alien families would stem the avalanche of faux “families” stampeding toward the US border to demand entry.

The alternative to deporting these “families” is letting them loose across the country, where they live in the shadows, do not contribute to the economy by paying taxes, but are able to collect welfare and even vote.

Migrant children are being ‘rented’ at border crossings

As it is, investigations show that many of the migrant “families” apprehended at the border are not real families and are not related to each other.

This is because of an alarming trend where human traffickers recycle unaccompanied children and use them as props so that a group of migrants can pose as a “family,” since being a family unit increases the chances that they will be granted asylum.
