Senator Elizabeth Warren found no sympathy on “The View” where she was called out over her decision to turn down a Fox News invitation.
The show’s co-hosts criticized the Massachusetts Democrat and 2020 presidential contender for her choice to turn down an invitation to participate in a town hall on Fox News, which “The View” co-host Sunny Hostin saw as being “dismissive of so many Americans.”
Warren slammed the network as a “hate-for-profit racket” in a series of tweets Tuesday, explaining that she would not appear on Fox News as it “gives a megaphone to racists and conspiracists” while providing “cover for the corruption that’s rotting our government.”

Hostin noted the network’s strong ratings and the fact that there are “real journalists” there, actually citing Chris Wallace and Shepard Smith as examples.
“I think if you want to be the president of the United States, for everyone, then you need to speak to everyone,” she said.
Joy Behar agreed noting how President Trump “never goes on MSNBC or CNN.”
“It’s very shortsighted on her part for a few reasons,” co-host Meghan McCain interjected. “Number one, if you can even change one mind in a Republican household, that to me would be worth it for Elizabeth Warren.”
“You have to go to spaces that are uncomfortable,” McCain said, adding her thoughts about how those on the left are looking for endorsements from progressives like Rep.Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
“I took this as a political move on Elizabeth Warren’s part trying to differentiate herself from Bernie Sanders so she can get those kinds of endorsements,” McCain explained, referring to the Vermont senator whose Fox News town hall last month, moderated by Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum, pulled in about 2.5 million viewers, breaking a record for the largest presidential town hall this election cycle.
“I think it’s shortsighted. I think it will work in the primary, but I agree with you. It’s the United States of America. Every woman on this show goes into spaces we’re uncomfortable with and it’s effective,” McCain added.
Warren inexplicably declared in her tweet storm that she wanted to reach “all Americans” while announcing she was shunning the conservatives, Republicans and even independent voters who regularly tune in to Fox News. Her “hard pass” on the network’s invitation was criticized by many, besides the women of “The View.”
Whoopi Goldberg, who kicked off the segment, concluded, “If you can’t face the Fox audience, you can’t face the U.S. It’s that simple.”
The sentiments on the left-leaning, anti-Trump show surprised many on Twitter.
What??? The ladies of the View said all that? What happened?

Ooof, when even Whoopie is against you as a Dem candidate, you know you done messed up.

Wow. I agree with the ladies on the View. pic.twitter.com/EqC1f7l4be

You know you have gone too far left when the ladies of the View criticize your intolerant “safe-space” tactics to malign Fox News

Wow! If I didn’t watch this, I wouldn’t have believed they said that. For once, they are correct.

Other than Sunny saying Shep is a real journalist, I think this is the first time I’ve agreed with these women.
