Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., a Palestinian-American and one of the first two Muslim women elected to Congress in 2018, is drawing a sharp rebuke from Republicans for saying she getsĀ “kind of a calming feeling” when thinking about the Holocaust, in part because in its aftermath, the Palestinians helped create “a safe haven for Jews.”
The remark was madeĀ on the Yahoo News podcast “Skullduggery,” and Republicans are calling on Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.,Ā to “take action” against Tlaib and other Democrats making anti-Semitic comments, Fox News reported.
“Thereās always kind of a calming feeling, I tell folks, when I think of the Holocaust, and the tragedy of the Holocaust, and the fact that it was my ancestors, Palestinians, who lost their land and some lost their lives, their livelihood, their human dignity, their existence in many ways, have been wiped out, and some people’s passports,” Tlaib said onĀ Friday’s podcast.Ā “And, just all of it was in the name of trying to create a safe haven for Jews, post-the Holocaust, post-the tragedy and the horrific persecution of Jews across the world at that time. And, I love the fact that it was my ancestors that provided that, right, in many ways, but they did it in a way that took their human dignity away and it was forced on them.”
Talk about putting a spin on reality, as history recalls something very different — but then, a map on the wall in Tlaib’s D.C. office that was altered her first week there says all that needs to be said about her take on reality.

House Minority Whip Steve Scalise, R-La., denounced the “twisted and disgusting” remark in a statement, reminding us that more than six million Jews were murdered and putting the onus on Pelosi to put a stop to the ongoing anti-Semitic actions from the radical element of her caucus.
“There is no justification for the twisted and disgusting comments made by Rashida Tlaib just days after the annual Day of Holocaust Remembrance,” Scalise said. “More than six million Jews were murdered during the Holocaust; there is nothing ‘calming’ about that fact.
“Unfortunately, this is far from the first display of heinous anti-Semitic comments coming from Democrat House members this year, and itās clear this is now the norm for their caucus,” he added. “Itās long past time for Speaker Pelosi to take swift action and make it clear that these vile comments have no place in Congress.”
Calling Tlaib’a words “sickening,Ā House Republican Conference Chair Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., also called on Pelosi and House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md.,Ā “to finally take action against Representative Tlaib and other members of the Democratic caucus who are spreading vile anti-Semitism.”
“All of us, regardless of party, must stand as Americans against the evil of anti-Semitism,” she added. “If the Democratic leadership continues to stand by in silence, they are enabling the spread of evil. History teaches us that anti-Semitism begins with words and becomes something far worse. Speaker Pelosi and Leader Hoyer must act now.”
In what has become a pattern from the radical left element of the Democratic Party after controversial actions, Tlaib responded Sunday night to paint herself as the real victim here… and play the race card.
“Policing my words, twisting & turning them to ignite vile attacks on me will not work. All of you who are trying to silence me will fail miserably. I will never allow you to take my words out of context to push your racist and hateful agenda. The truth will always win,” she tweeted.

Just as predictable, the Washington Post rushed to her defense by charging that her words were taken out of context, and that Republicans “have seized” on the remarks.

As for the history of the region around the time of World War Two, Jacob Jacoby, an op-ed columnist at the Boston Globe, posted a detailed history lesson for the woman who called President Trump a “motherf–ker” her very first week in office.
A lesson that showed that the Palestinian Arabs, led byĀ Haj Amin al-Husseini, were allies with Adolf Hitler.
In 1929, Palestinian Arabs broke into the yeshiva in Hebron, murdering every student they found there. Then they lynched Jews in the streets. When the town's rabbi tried to shelter frightened Jews in his home, the Arab mob attacked and killed him and his family. pic.twitter.com/QPLLfGeqcW

In 1938, the French journal Marianne reported that Arabs in Palestine were enthusiastically pro-Nazi: āAt Nablus, the Arab population [gives] shouts of āHeil Hitlerā.⦠the Arab journals Falastin & Al Difaāa ⦠reproduce large portraits of various leaders of the Third Reich."

Most notorious was the Palestinian Arab leader Husseini, who met w/ Hitler in Berlin and traveled to Bosnia to recruit volunteers for the Waffen SS. "The Arabs were Germany's natural friends," Husseini told the führer, "because they had the same enemies" ā especially Jews. pic.twitter.com/3LqMiW8bAO

Jacoby then shared a quote fromĀ al-Husseini about cooperating with Nazi Germany “to eradicate every last Jew from Palestine.”
“‘Safe haven,’Ā @RashidaTlaib? Truly, you’re shameless,” Jacoby concluded.
“Our fundamental condition for cooperating with Germany,” Husseini wrote, “was a free hand to eradicate every last Jew from Palestine & the Arab world.” Again & again he insisted that Jewish refugees be barred from Palestine.
“Safe haven,” @RashidaTlaib? Truly, you’re shameless.

The progressive left has become so comfortable with their deceitful campaign of disinformation, carefully designed to advance their radical agenda — a campaign they know will see little challenge from their media allies — that the truth is of little significance.
Here’s a sampling of responses from Twitter that shows it’s not just GOP lawmakers seizing on Tlaib’s vile remarks:
Thatās why they massacred Jews during the Holocaust and started a revolt against the British to prevent Jews from entering, and why their leader told Hitler kill Jews, donāt send them here. To provide a safe haven. Makes perfect sense ā¦@RashidaTlaibā© https://t.co/ohA43vcz2c

My goodness, this is horrifying. From a member of Congress. In 2019. While we were all marveling at the antisemitic depths to which Ilhan Omar will sink, Rashida Tlaib swings for the fences. https://t.co/ybrV4tEhvM
