Trump offers precious Mother’s Day proclamation that celebrates motherhood and ‘gift of life’

President Donald Trump issued a Mother’s Day proclamation on Sunday that not only celebrated motherhood, but the “gift of life.”

A tweet from the White House linking to the official decree included the caption: “Today, and every day, let us ensure that our mothers know and feel our deep gratitude for the gift of life and for their unmatched sacrifices to strengthen our families and our Nation.”

With the pro-life movement gaining momentum in America, the subtle reminder takes on added significance.

Of course, the liberal anti-Trump media is writing about mothers still separated from their children due to the administration’s “hardline immigration policies” — policies that when adopted by the Obama administration, drew nary a protest.

“Today, we recognize mothers everywhere who inspire us to dream big and to never give up,” the proclamation said.

Citing the eloquent words from President John Quincy Adams about the sacrifices made for country by his mother, former first lady Abigail Adams, the president spoke of how this lesson is being applied today by “inspirational mothers … encouraging their children to become leaders in their own families and great citizens in their communities and this Nation.”

“Even in our lowest moments, mothers see the best in their children.  Through their guidance and unwavering love, they prepare us for the challenges of adulthood and provide us with the confidence we need to reach our full potential,” the proclamation read. “They are some of the best examples of everyday heroes, and their consistent devotion to family and grace under pressure too often go overlooked.  At any stage in life, we find comfort in knowing that we can call on our mothers and grandmothers or reflect on our wonderful memories of them to find wisdom and strength.”

Trump equated the nation’s prosperity to “the importance of motherhood.”

“I encourage all Americans to express their love and respect for their mothers or beloved mother figures, whether with us in person or in spirit, and to reflect on the importance of motherhood to the prosperity of our families, communities, and Nation,” he proclaimed.

Lara Trump summed the day up well in a recent Instagram post, “Sometimes you just need a hug from mom.”

She had her own Mother’s Day message, as seen in a photo Lara posted with her own mother: “Happy Mother’s Day and God Bless You.”

Ivanka took to Instagram as well, to post photos of her mother, Ivana Trump.

“While every day for you should be Mother’s Day, it’s great to have a day for us to slow down, reflect and express to you how much we appreciate you and all that you do for our family. ‬‪Thank you mom!” the caption read.
