This week renowned conservative commentator Ben Shapiro made an enormous boo-boo, though in fairness to him at least he apologized and took ownership of his mistake … unlike others.
During a difficult interview Thursday with BBC journalist Andrew Neil, who’s reportedly known for his hard-hitting questions, Shapiro lost his temper and stormed off set in rage while ranting at the host that he’s significantly more popular than him and that nobody knows who he is.
While the interview started congenially enough, with Neil questioning Shapiro about his past work at Breitbart, it began to go off the rails as the host’s questions started veering toward the extreme.

“I’m interested that you think there’s a thought movement inside the Republican Party. I mean, haven’t the conservatives run out of ideas in America?” Neil asked, adding that Democrats have been trotting out “new policies” such as Medicare for All and a $15 minimum wage that are allegedly popular.
Popular they may be — though to be clear, the host provided no evidence to back up this assertion — but economically feasible they certainly are not. Medicare for All would effectively bankrupt the country, while a $15 minimum way would spur massive job losses.
Shapiro responded by highlighting some of the ideas being debated on the right and saying, “It is intellectual sneering of the highest order to suggest that only the left has new and decent ideas.”
In response, Neil pushed a left-wing-media-concocted conspiracy theory about the bill signed into law in Georgia this week that limits abortions to the first six weeks of pregnancy versus the first 20 weeks. The bill was reportedly signed because it’s around the 7th or so week that an unborn baby’s heartbeat can be detected by medical equipment, according to the American Pregnancy Association.

Left-wing conspiracy theorists have argued that the bill will make it so that women who suffer a miscarriage can be incarcerated in prison for up to 30 years. Neil echoed this theory Thursday.
“Some of the ideas that are popular in your side of politics would seem to take us back to the dark ages,” He said. Georgia, new abortion laws, which you are much in favor of, that a woman who miscarries could get 30 years. … These are extreme, hard policies,” he said.
Fed-up with the host constantly spewing what appeared to be left-wing talking points , Shapiro fired back by questioning whether Neil is an objective journalist or a left-wing commentator.
“You purport to be an objective journalist, BBC purports to be an objective, down the middle network,” he said. “It obviously is not, it never has been. And you as a journalist are proceeding to call one side of the political aisle ignorant, barbaric, and sending us back to the dark ages, why don’t you just say you’re on the left.”
This accusation has earned Shapiro mockery because apparently Neil is considered to be a prominent conservative in the U.K. Keep in mind that the U.K.’s limp-wristed brand of conservatism is quite different than the brand of conservative practiced here in the states.
Neil responded to the accusation by claiming that were Shapiro a pro-choice commentator, he’d hit him with questions and remarks just as critical. Shapiro didn’t seem to believe this. Why? Because here in the states, mainstream media “journalists” have a habit of fawning over Democrat candidates and commentators and treating them with kid gloves. That’s a demonstrable fact.
Case in point from the 2016 presidential election:
“Would you suggest that a late-term abortion is brutal?” Shapiro pressed.
Neil continued to ignore this and other questions posed by the conservative commentator. His own questions meanwhile continued to grow more and more extreme. Besides taking some of Shapiro’s past comments and writing out of context, Neil also seemed to question his Judeo-Christian beliefs.
While Shapiro attempted to maintain his cool, his temper eventually got the best of him.
“You talk about undermining the public discourse — it seems to me that simply going through and finding lone things that sound bad out of context, and then hitting people with them, is a way for you to make a quick buck on BBC off the fact that I’m popular and no one has ever heard of you,” he said.

Because of this temper tantrum — as well as Shapiro’s decision to prematurely end the interview — he’s currently facing endless mockery and character assassinations on social media.
Unlike the far-leftists who tend to double down on their insanity, however, Shapiro has formally apologized for mischaracterizing Neil’s political views and behaving like a child:

Fair and humble admission, correct? Not according to the extremist left, which has responded to his humility by doubling down on their factually inaccurate and clinically insane accusations that he’s a white nationalist, extremist, Nazi, etc.
