Sharyl Attkisson cuts through media-hype to highlight overlooked and chilling ‘theme’ on Mueller report

Investigative journalist Sharyl Attkisson took a step away from all the hyped reporting on the Robert Mueller report to note an “important point” that many have been missing.

The “Full Measure” host believes there is a “bigger overarching theme” that is not being discussed by Democrats and the mainstream media which reveals the deeper issues with the intelligence agencies in the Federal Government.

In a series of tweets Thursday, Attkisson pointed out that, besides the “political bias” that Mueller’s investigation and final report have revealed, the apparent fear of exposure by an incoming non-politician like President Donald Trump drove the various players to go to extremes to cover up what had been likely going on for a while.

Attkisson’s point sparked discussion on social media where many admitted they had been wondering about the same thing as well.

Some argued that it all came down to the players involved looking out for their jobs and their pensions, while many acknowledged that this was probably only the “tip of the iceberg.”

The Emmy Award-winning investigative journalist has long sounded the alarm on the deeper issues and was not at all surprised to hear of reports that the Obama administration had spied President Trump before he was elected. The former CBS reporter had her own personal experience to back her views.

Attkisson filed a federal lawsuit against the Obama Justice Department and then-Attorney General Eric Holder in 2015 for hacking into her personal computer, notably after she wrote pieces critical of then-president Obama.

In a report last year, Attkisson called out former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, Former CIA Director John Brennan and former CIA Acting Director Michael Morell as she slammed the media leaks from Obama holdovers inside the FBI, DOJ and CIA.

Following Attorney General William Barr’s press conference Thursday, Trump’s 2020 campaign manager, Brad Parscale, said “the tables have turned, and it’s time to investigate the liars who instigated this sham investigation into President Trump, motivated by political retribution and based on no evidence whatsoever.”

“There is simply no denying that ‘spying did occur’ on the Trump campaign during the 2016 election, as Attorney General Barr himself noted in testimony before Congress,” he added.
