CNN contributor Mary Katharine Ham, calm and collect, offered a stunning take on the release of special counsel Robert Mueller’s 448-page report.
Stunning in that the network is in the business of destroying President Donald Trump, not exonerating him.
With the Resistance in full panic mode, scrabbling to move the goal posts following the public release of the report that showed no evidence of collusion,
“I hope nobody missed leg day because carrying these goalposts are going to be very heavy if you want to do it for the next 18 months,” Ham said, matter-of-factly.

“Because the idea coalescing that the idea of collusion, which everyone, we all know, used for two years as a shorthand for a conspiracy in a large criminal sense, the idea that we did not use that for that, and that conclusion does not matter and therefore, it’s like somehow improper to point out there was no collusion as we meant it for the last two years, I think is an operation in gaslighting. There was no collusion. It is good news.”
The good news being that the president of the United States is not a “foreign asset.”
This point of view coming on a network that offered the following panel to analyze the Mueller report:

Former Navy SEAL Robert O’Neill, the man who said he took the fatal shot that not only ended the life of Osama bin Laden, but brought closure to many who suffered in the 9/11 attack on America, summed the panel up thusly: “The mega panel on [CNN] looks like the Last Supper only sadder.”

As for Mary Katharine, she found herself under considerable fire for simply stating the facts — her antagonists being graduates of the Ocasio-Cortez school of feelings over facts.
Responding to a curious shift that emerged Thursday with no evidence of collusion, that being the sudden downplaying of the term as little more than a creation from the president and Attorney General William Barr, Ham took to Twitter to accuse the disappointed anti-Trump cabal clinging desperately to the narrative of “gaslighting.”
(Despite the media using the term ad nauseam for two years, on Thursday, collusion suddenly morphed into “coordination” and “conspiracy,” which is a criminal act.)
“Idea “collusion” is solely Trump’s/Barr’s word & wasn’t used constantly, often irresponsibly, by media & politicians (& all of you responding to me) for 2 yrs as shorthand for “criminal conspiracy to knowingly collude w foreign power to tip election” is nonsense gaslighting. Stop,” Ham tweeted.

And the more Ham’s remarks were highlighted as a reasonable take on the release of the Mueller report, the more she was blasted by the Trump-haters.
Liberal ideologue Oscar Willis even accused her of “shilling” for President Trump.
She responded by serving up more logic.
“Yep, I think & have said (on actions revealed in this report!) Trump has bad judgment & lies,” she tweeted. “But unlike some, I don’t think facts are untrue bc Pres might like them. We had investigation. Lack of conspiracy matters, given the opposite treated as a foregone conclusion for 2 yrs.”

So persuasive was Ham in her approach, her critics resorted to attacking her over her toned, muscular physic — this from the same crowd that fawned over Michelle Obama.
But even there, Ham played it to perfection.

Not that Ham didn’t have her share of supporters… here’s a sampling of responses from Twitter:
Leg day comment on CNN was excellent, although you probably had to explain it to a few of your co-panelists.

There are a dozen of videos of 2-3 minute montages where MSNBC CNN and other outlets use this term months after month. I’m not even sure why someone would want to pretend otherwise.

“gaslighting” sums it all up. Thanks!
