Impeachment resolution against Trump will now be signed by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has reacted to the release of the Mueller report by saying she believes there’s enough in the report for her to support the impeachment of President Donald Trump.

“Mueller’s report is clear in pointing to Congress’ responsibility in investigating obstruction of justice by the President. It is our job as outlined in Article 1, Sec 2, Clause 5 of the US Constitution. As such, I’ll be signing onto @RashidaTlaib’s impeachment resolution,” tweeted Cortez in response to a tweet from The Washington Post highlighting a portion of the Mueller report where the special investigator said he could not concretely say the president did not commit obstruction of justice.

It’s a line in the report that leftists have desperately clung to with the hope that they can keep their fantasies of a Trump impeachment alive.

“At the same time, if we had confidence after a thorough investigation of the facts that the President clearly did not commit obstruction of justice, we would so state. Based on the facts and the applicable legal standards, we are unable to reach that judgement,” the report reads.

In other words: we have no proof of anything, but we don’t agree with this guy either so keep investigating him and wasting time and money if you want.

Remember too that these hopes of going after the president for obstruction of justice come on the same day that he was proven innocent of the collusion he’s been accused of for years.

Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) introduced her impeachment resolution last month with the support of one other lawmaker, Rep. Al Green (D-TX).

Tlaib said though she submitted the resolution with the support of only one other lawmaker, no other Democrats discouraged her from pursuing the president’s impeachment.

“For many of my colleagues, not one told me not to,” she told gathered press after submitting her resolution. “And that’s important to know. Not one single person told me not to do this — and I think that speaks volumes, more than whether or not they signed on.”

After announcing she would join Tlaib’s cause, Cortez tweeted that she took no pleasure in trying to impeach Trump.

“Many know I take no pleasure in discussions of impeachment. I didn’t campaign on it, & rarely discuss it unprompted. We all prefer working on our priorities: pushing Medicare for All, tackling student loans, & a Green New Deal. But the report squarely puts this on our doorstep,” she tweeted.

Remember that this is the same congresswoman who is also currently promoting a video that she dubs a “message from the future.” In the video, which the congresswoman narrates, she explains how her unpopular Green New Deal gets put into law in the future and ends up saving the planet.

Lawmakers are unfortunately not the only ones screaming about impeachment today.

MSNBC host Chris Matthews reacted to the release of the Mueller report by saying that Democrats should continue to push for the “truth” and begin an “impeachment exercise.”

Rosie O’Donnell, one of Trump’s loudest and most consistent Hollywood critics, also tweeted that she still wanted to see the president impeached.

Now that the results of the Mueller report are officially out, we can safely say that these folks are without a doubt living in a fantasy controlled by their collective Trump Derangement Syndrome.
