Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg is pandering for the LGBT vote by swapping “coming-out” stories with fellow gay leftist Rachel Maddow, an MSNBC opinion host.
Rachel Maddow: I Came Out as Lesbian In College
Maddow kicked things off by recounting that she had applied for a Rhodes scholarship as an openly-gay college student. She then sounded like she disapproved of Buttigieg, 37, for waiting until he was 33 to come out as homosexual.
“I had come out in college. I had applied for the Rhodes Scholar as an openly gay person. It definitely came up in the selection process and then I got there and I learned that I was the first American that had ever been out.
I acknowledge it’s a difficult question because it’s bad you didn’t come out until you were 33. But I think it would have killed me to be closeted that long…Coming out is hard, but being in the closet is harder.”
Buttigieg: I Didn’t Realize I Was Gay for Years
Buttigieg, the current mayor of South Bend, Indiana, admitted that it was hard for him to come out. “It was hard. It was really hard,” he said.
Buttigieg added that it took him a long time to realize that he was gay. He said he had lived in denial for many years.
And once he realized he was homosexual, Pete says he stayed in the closet because he was afraid that being gay might hurt his political career.
“It took me plenty of time to come out to myself. I did not — the way you did or the way my husband — figure out at such an early age. I should have. It took me a very long time to resolve that.”
Twitter Leftists Gush Over Maddow Interview
The audience was touched by the exchange, as evidenced by the excessive gushing on Twitter. The praise started immediately after the segment, when Maddow’s colleague congratulated her for such a brilliant and meaningful discussion, opening the door for her to pontificate several more minutes about “coming out.”
“I think that there is a conversation that happens among gay people that is different than a conversation among straight people when it comes to people coming out.”… https://t.co/oMM7zi4gu7

I feel like the earth just shifted a bit from their public intimate conversation. The honesty, vulnerability, strength, integrity, generosity, willingness … 🙏

A truly brilliant interview, featuring both an extraordinarily intelligent interviewer and extraordinarily intelligent interviewee. A glimmer of hope in an otherwise dark time.

Thank you @maddow and @PeteButtigieg for your candor tonight. We really appreciate BOTH of you sharing your stories. You are the shoulders our children will stand on.

Agreed – Incredible moment in time – I am so spellbound and encouraged by the honest ‘normal’ conversation between these two – gives me hope for a future fueled by inclusiveness and just plain love. Times – they are a changin’! ???️?❤️?

This took my breath away. What an incredibly humanizing, personal conversation—so far removed from partisanship and politics. Just a moment of reflection between two LGBT folk who made it to the other side.

So powerful and personal for them both. I couldn’t look away. As a society, we are lucky to have them willing to share their knowledge and brains and leadership and lives with us.

Trump’s Ambassador to Germany Is Openly Gay
It’s admirable that Peter Buttigieg wants to be his authentic self as a gay man who doesn’t have to hide his sexuality. Trump supporters are all for being yourself.
For the record, President Trump’s pick for Ambassador to Germany is Richard Grenell, who’s openly gay. Not surprisingly, the left-wing media have not recognized this milestone achievement for the LGBT community.

Meanwhile, Peter Buttigieg has hypocritically attacked President Trump and Vice President Mike Pence for their Christian faith.
Buttigieg also trashed the Christians voters who support President Trump.

If Only MAGA Country Enjoyed the Same Freedoms
We only wish that Trump supporters enjoyed the same freedom that Buttigieg and other leftists do — which is to not be bullied or assaulted for expressing themselves by wearing MAGA hats.
He bragged about getting “recognized at work as the MAGA hat stealer.” You know the most mind boggling aspect of this whole thing?
That he has a job.https://t.co/K3OrVzDt4a
