Chicago’s Democratic Mayor Rahm Emanuel claims the United States is a “sanctuary country.” (No, it’s not.)

Outgoing Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel got dragged on social media after declaring that the United States is a “sanctuary country” that welcomes mass illegal immigration. (No, it’s not.) Emanuel was Barack Obama’s White House chief of staff.

Trump Threatens to Ship All Illegals to Sanctuary Cities

Emanuel made the remarks in response to President Trump’s threat that if Democrats refuse to change immigration laws, he will ship all illegal aliens to liberal “sanctuary cities” like Chicago.

Emanuel reacted by suggesting that there was no need to ship all the illegal aliens to sanctuary cities, because the entire country is a sanctuary for illegals.

“What President Trump fails to understand is that America is a sanctuary country. Small, medium and large cities across the nation are suddenly and rapidly identifying as sanctuary cities because of the abandonment of Americans values, ideals and cultural destiny under President Trump’s watch.

Not only does hate have no home in Chicago, but as a welcoming city, we would welcome these migrants with open arms.”

Emanuel Said Nothing When Obama Mass-Deported Illegals

Twitter reacted by dragging Rahm Emanuel for his radical open-borders stance that prioritizes illegal aliens over lawful residents and U.S. citizens.

Many reminded Emanuel that he did not protest when his former boss, Barack Obama, deported illegal aliens en masse during his presidency.

‘There Is a Correct Way to Be a Migrant’

One person quipped: “Does this person understand that his former boss Obama enforced immigration laws? And he never said a word. Why all of a sudden is he interested in this?”

“What you don’t understand is that there is a correct way to be a migrant. Not the illegal way you are condoning.”

“Who’s going to feed and house these people?”

Others pointed out that Emanuel has only five weeks left in his failed mayorship and should try to do no more harm before he leaves. “Go away already.”

“He only has like 5 weeks left.” ?

Crime-Ridden Chicago Has Had Democratic Mayor Since 1931

In September 2018, Emanuel shocked Democrats when he abruptly announced that he would not seek re-election after a disastrous two terms.

The city of Chicago has had a Democratic mayor for the past 88 years (since 1931). During that time, crime rates, homicides, poverty, and homelessness have all spiked under the direction of incompetent, corrupt left-wing politicians.

Democrat-Run States Have Worst Economies

This is not surprising since research confirms that states run by Democrats have the worst economies, according to the report “Rich States, Poor States.”

The 2017 report shows that states run by Republicans have the strongest economies.

In contrast, many of the worst-performing states are run by Democrats — meaning Dems control either the governor’s office, the legislature, or both.

Democrat-Led Cities Top ‘Most Dangerous’ List

A separate study of the 100 Most Dangerous Cities in the United States shows that the most crime-ridden cities are run by Democrats.

Democratic mayors preside over 16 of the top 20 cities with the highest violent crime rates, according to Neighborhood Scout, which compiled the report.

Chicago was recently named the murder capital of the United States. It has since been replaced by East St. Louis, Illinois (whose mayor is also a Democrat).

While Chicago is the nation’s third-largest city, it had more homicides in 2016 than New York and Los Angeles combined. Did we mention that Chicago has among the toughest gun-control laws in the United States?

Democrats routinely take flourishing American cities and run them into the ground:
