AOC accuses Trump of endangered Omar’s life, invokes Nazi poem, calls on Congress to respond to POTUS’ ‘explicit attack’

On Friday socialist congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez accused President Donald Trump of endangering the life of her fellow congresswoman, Muslim Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar.

She issued the sensational claim after the president posted a fact-based video to Twitter that contrasted dismissive remarks that Omar had made last month about the Sept. 11 attacks with jarring video footage from Ground Zero recorded in the aftermath of the terror attack 18 years ago.

Watch the video footage below:

According to Ocasio-Cortez, as well as her allies in the Democrat Party and the liberal mainstream media, the president’s decision to highlight Omar’s own insensitive words about the Sept. 11 attacks to the public is a danger to the Muslim congresswoman’s life.

“Members of Congress have a duty to respond to the President’s explicit attack today,” the young congresswoman tweeted roughly two hours after Trump posted the video above.

“@IlhanMN’s life is in danger. For our colleagues to be silent is to be complicit in the outright, dangerous targeting of a member of Congress. We must speak out. ‘First they came…'”

Attached to the tweet was a quote from “First they came …,” a famous poem about the Holocaust written by deceased Lutheran pastor Martin Niemöller. Both left-wing legislators and commentators have a habit of appropriating this poem to score political points against Trump.

The implication appeared to be that the president’s decision to highlight Omar’s own disrespectful words about the Sept. 11 attack — words that she’s thus far refused to apologize for saying — is somehow equivalent to the murder of the six million Jews who were killed during the Holocaust.

Her exploitation of the Holocaust to score political points against Trump hasn’t been well-received by some members of the Jewish community, including conservative commentator Ben Shapiro.

“There’s something deeply disturbing about AOC making Holocaust references to defend an open and unrepentant anti-Semite who is merely being criticized,” Shapiro wrote on Twitter.

Besides downplaying the significance of the Sept. 11 attacks by referring to it as an event during which “some people did something,” Omar also has a history of issuing glaringly anti-Semitic remarks.

He added that it’s equally disturbing how the left-wing media have latched on to AOC’s claim that Trump merely highlighting her Muslim peer’s own words counts as so-called “violent speech.”

Look:

Included among those in the media who’ve bought into AOC’s “speech is violence” narrative hook, line and sinker is MSNBC host Chris Hayes: “The President is actively and willfully endangering the life of a member of Congress,” he tweeted Friday evening.

Critics responded by noting that, according to the left’s faulty logic, the media too is therefore guilty of endangering the life of someone — namely the president of the United States of America.

Fair point?

The critics’ core argument is that all Trump had done was criticize Omar for having been so dismissive of the Sept. 11 attacks — much in the same way that Democrats and their media allies relentlessly criticize the president for literally everything day in and day out.

Yet for some inexplicable reason, whenever any conservative criticizes anyone on the left — particularly AOC, for that matter — the left invariably cries foul. In the past, they’ve claimed that criticism is racist, but it appears they’re now claiming that criticism is a call to violence.

To some, it seems like nothing more than a sinister attempt to silence speech they dislike:
