Stephen Miller reportedly taking the wheel on immigration amid Homeland shake-up, leftists openly show fear

Word in the swamp is that Stephen Miller, senior policy advisor and chief speechwriter at the White House is the man who’s been throwing the switches in the DHS purge.

The 33-year-old Miller has grown in influence within the Trump circle since the departure of Chief of Staff John Kelly. Multiple media outlets report that Miller pushed for the ousting of Kirstjen Nielsen as DHS secretary and that he was also behind the departure of Randolph “Tex” Alles as head of the Secret Service.

Miller’s Homeland overhaul began last Thursday with the retraction of the nomination of Ronald Vitiello as head of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. All three of these officials were seen as allies of Kelly, so when Kelly left in January, the immigration hardliner Miller stepped in with a voice that was in clear harmony with the President’s aim to directly attack the crisis at the border.

The Washington Examiner reports: Immigration hardliners welcomed Nielsen’s departure. Rosemary Jenks, director of government relations at Numbers USA, said too many senior figures at agencies dealing with immigration did not share Trump’s agenda.

“It was time for Secretary Nielsen to go,” she said. “She came into the department with a reputation in cybersecurity but not immigration. Obviously right now immigration is the focus. I think she was dumped into the deep end without a life preserver and she sank.”

Rumor has it that the shake-up at DHS is still in process with more heads on the chopping block. Next in line are L. Francis Cissna, head of Citizenship and Immigration Services, and John Mitnik, the department’s general counsel.

Critics point out that there is already a void at the top of the department as the deputy secretary position has been temporarily filled for the past year by the Under Secretary for Management Claire Grady.

The illegal immigration crisis has blown up of late with border crossings at an 11-year high. The President’s determined rhetoric has appropriately been stepped up. On Friday, he announced that the U.S. is full. Speaking to migrant asylum seekers who would hear, “Can’t take you anymore, I’m sorry. So turn around. That’s the way it is.”

Miller’s ascension to prominence in Trump’s White House traces back to his days as communications director for then-Senator Jeff Sessions and before that, as press secretary for Representatives Michele Bachmann and John Shadegg.

Miller is vilified by the left and demonized for his steely resolve and stoic exterior in all situations, not to mention his staunch immigration views.

MSNBC’s Morning Joe program is sufficiently impressed by Miller that they took the time to fabricate an ominous 1984-ish video to scare the children viewing Mika’s and Joe’s show this morning.

After the video (see below) was played, Mika Brzezinski remarked that “Miller is apparently being rewarded for his fealty. Reports say Donald Trump has put him in charge of immigration.”
