Candace Owens comes out swinging when leftists fall for New Zealand killer’s ‘ploy’ to name her after tragedy

Candace Owens is fighting back at being the scapegoat of “racist Leftists” who appear to be buying into the idea that she influenced a terrorist who murdered dozens in a New Zealand mosque.

The conservative commentator was named in a 74-page “manifesto” by the gunman who opened fire inside the Al Noor Mosque in Christchurch which left 49 people dead and another 48 injured.

A second shooting as Friday prayers were underway occurred at a mosque in Linwood not far from the first attack. The gunman and other suspects were taken into custody after the horrific attack which was reportedly live-streamed on social media in a sick attempt to get more attention.

The killer’s mention of Owens and Felix “PewDiePie” Kjellberg, a YouTuber who has allegedly promoted anti-Semitism, ignited immediate backlash. Owens came out swinging in a series of tweets, dismissing the radical suggestions that she could be blamed for the massacre.

“FACT: I’ve never created any content espousing my views on the 2nd Amendment or Islam,” Owens wrote. “The Left pretending I inspired a mosque massacre in…New Zealand because I believe black America can do it without government hand outs is the reachiest reach of all reaches!”

While Owens obviously directed her “LOL” and laughing emoji at the leftists who were falling for the killer’s ploy to blame her, triggered Twitter users slammed the 29-year-old Turning Point USA director of communications. But she doubled down and continued to defend herself.

Owens, a vocal supporter of President Trump and the founder of the “Blexit” movement which calls for Black Americans to leave the Democratic Party, threatened lawsuits against those who continued to perpetuate the idea that she was to blame for the New Zealand killer’s despicable actions.

New Zealand’s Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said the massacre “was an act of extraordinary and unprecedented violence. It has no place in New Zealand.”

“It is one of New Zealand’s darkest days. Many of the people affected by this act of extreme violence will be from our refugee and migrant communities,” she added, according to Newsweek.

But while the left raged against Owens in the wake of the horrific massacre, many countered that the leftist backlash was playing right into the shooter’s plan by helping spread the video, the manifesto and the underlying messages of hate and division.

And Owens clapped back at the left in another sarcastic tweet on Friday, noting what she had not yet been “blamed” for.

Many on Twitter supported Owens and called out the left for adding fuel to the fire of the shooter’s hatred and giving him the attention he was seeking.
