Schiff one-ups Mueller’s ‘angry Democrats,’ hires MSNBC and NBC News contributor to investigate Trump

Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, one-upped special counsel Robert Mueller and his team of “angry Democrats” probing allegations of collusion between President Trump’s campaign and Russia.

Going well beyond angry, the rabid anti-Trump Democrat has hired a member of the Trump Derangement Syndrome crowd.

Foregoing any pretense of separation between the Democratic Party and a certain network, Schiff brought on MSNBC and NBC News analyst and commentator Daniel Goldman to help investigate the president.

Goldman, a former assistant U.S. attorney in the Southern District of New York, joins the House Intel Committee’s staff as a senior adviser and director of investigations.

And considering he sees President Trump as ranking somewhere under a mob boss, there’s not much suspense in where his efforts will lead.

Among his many criticisms of the president, Goldman said during an appearance on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” in December that Trump broke the law to get elected.

“We already now know that the president has committed a felony in order to obtain the office of the presidency,” Goldman said when co-host Joe Scarborough asked if Trump can survive legal challenges he may face.

Schiff will retread ground already covered by Mueller, investigating alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, and Goldman has a history of prosecuting Russian organized crime.

More from the Washington Examiner on Goldman’s background:

Goldman’s track-record on Russian crimes is extensive. While in the Manhattan U.S. attorney’s office, Goldman was the deputy chief of the office’s organized crime division, successfully prosecuting over 30 cases. He oversaw cases a slew of cases with Russian defendants, ranging from racketeering and money laundering to securities fraud and insurance fraud. He also oversaw the conviction for murder of members of the Genovese family inner-circle.

Goldman was also fully on board with the Brett Kavanaugh character assassination orchestrated by Senate Democrats, as seen in his response to Kavanaugh’s spirited defense of himself before the Senate Judiciary Committee.

“And then you see, on the other hand, someone like Brett Kavanaugh, who is exhibiting much more anger and vitriol and defiance than we saw in his previous hearings,” Goldman said, according to The Examiner. “As a prosecutor, I see some of his reactions and I think to myself, huh, this is kind of consistent with someone who might be a mean drunk.”

The party that made weaponizing the apparatus of the U.S. government a political tactic under President Obama has grown impatient waiting on Mueller to wrap up his probe and is now in a frenzy, hellbent on impeaching Trump.

In addition to Schiff targeting the president, Rep. Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., chair of the House Judiciary Committee, launched a sprawling probe Monday of Trump’s family, administration and campaign.

And while Democrats claim impeachment is not on the table at the moment, it’s just a matter of time.

Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., the House Financial Services Committee chairwoman, took to Twitter Monday night to rally the troops to the cause.

“For the faint of heart, who’ve been waiting for every ‘t’ to be crossed and every ‘i’ to be dotted, now is the time to demonstrate your patriotism. Support impeachment!” she tweeted.

President Trump responded to this frenzy on Tuesday, saying the Democrats have gone “stone cold CRAZY.”
