Don Jr outspoken on ‘total farce’ Mueller probe, suggests Adam Schiff has collusion problems of his own

Donald Trump Jr. believes the American people should be able to see right through the “total farce” that Robert Mueller’s investigation has become.

President Donald Trump’s eldest son leveled a scathing assessment of the nearly two-year probe by the special counsel into alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia during an appearance on “Fox & Friends” on Monday.

Trump Jr. also weighed in on the Southern District of New York’s investigation into the Trump Organization and the Trump Inaugural Committee, dismissing the probe and former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie’s warning that it is worse for Trump than the Mueller investigation.

“The Southern District of New York investigation is monumentally more perilous to the president than Bob Mueller ever was or ever will be. They have two tour guides and no restriction on where they can go,” Christie told host George Stephanopoulos on ABC’s “This Week” Sunday.

“I’m not worried about it because we function the way we function, we always have, always will,” Trump Jr. responded.

“I’m old enough to remember two weeks ago when Mueller would be the savior. That is what they’re trying to do,” he added. “They’re not investigating actual crimes anymore. They’re literally trying to find something they can make a big deal of. If that isn’t apparent to people around the country. ‘This is going to be it. We finally got him.’ I’ve been hearing this for two years.”

“What they did was – they put incredible pressure on regular guys that couldn’t afford millions of dollars in legal fees, and got them to slip up and say something incorrectly,” Trump Jr. said, accusing the special counsel of not discovering any crimes related to the investigation’s aim.

“There are no actual crimes. There is only things that people did in past lives. In 2006 before we even thought we ever get into this crazy world,” he said, slamming the probe as “a total farce” and “the greatest witch-hunt in American history.”

With Mueller’s report expected this week, the president’s former attorney, Michael Cohen, is set to testify before Congress in the endless attempt by Democrats to keep the fake Russia-collusion narrative alive. Leading that fight for nearly two years has been Rep. Adam Schiff who has kept up the pressure for ongoing investigations in his quest to find the smoking gun in the collusion hunt.

In an opinion piece published in the Washington Examiner Tuesday, Robert Wasinger, former White House liaison to the State Department, called out the California Democrat for “collusion problems of his own,” arguing that the House Intelligence Committee chairman “is the wrong person to trust with leading a serious, unbiased inquiry.”

Questions have circulated since Schiff was spotted at a ski resort in Colorado in July 2018, talking with Glenn Simpson, the founder of Fusion GPS, the opposition research firm behind the unverified, Democrat-funded Steele dossier on then-candidate Trump.

“Schiff is still working to hold up the increasingly waterlogged tent of the ‘collusion’ story. He will have to manage public expectations in order to avoid embarrassment when Mueller finally reveals the lack of grounding for charges that the Trump campaign did any of the things Schiff has spent two years insinuating it did,” Wasinger, a former Trump campaign official and transition team member, wrote. “This malleable definition of collusion could come back to haunt him.”

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy has questioned whether the Democrat lawmaker should recuse himself from the investigation due to this meeting.

“Given Chairman Schiff’s previous underlying rationale when calling for others to recuse themselves from Russia-related investigations, in order to avoid charges of hypocrisy or perceived bias, should Chairman Schiff recuse himself from his intended investigations after meeting with a witness of an ongoing investigation?” McCarthy asked in a statement earlier this month.

Trump Jr. slammed Democrats for orchestrating Cohen’s closed-door hearings with Senate and House Intelligence Committees for Tuesday and Thursday, as well as public Congressional hearing with the House Oversight Committee on Wednesday, coinciding with his father’s summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in Vietnam.

“You got a President trying to deal with a major world issue, and to try to distract – or whatever it is – by bringing in a convicted felon and known liar,” he said. “I mean, it’s pretty pathetic, but it really shows you how much the Democrats hate Trump. They hate Trump more than they love America, by a long shot, and it’s pretty disgusting that they would do that.”

“They would rather see America fail than succeed with Trump at the helm,” he added.
