Muslim group sues Trump admin, demands ‘ISIS bride’ be allowed to return to the U.S.

A day after President Donald Trump announced that he wouldn’t allow former Alabama resident turned jihadi bride Hoda Muthana to return to the United States, a Muslim law center filed a suit on behalf of the woman’s father, Ahmed Ali Muthana, demanding she be allowed back in.

Filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia late Thursday evening against the president, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Attorney General William Barr, the suit by the Constitutional Law Center for Muslims requests that the court force the Trump admin to recognize Muthana’s former citizenship and allow her and her son to promptly return to the U.S.

Moreover, it requests that the ruling be “expedited” because of the “precarious” conditions Muthana and her son currently face living in a Syrian refugee camp.

It also claims her father is “entitled to send his daughter money to ensure the survival of his daughter and grandson,” never mind that his daughter is a terrorist who’d tried in the past “to incite Americans to commit acts of violence on national holidays,” according to Fox News.

Muthana, 24, was a U.S. citizen who was born in Hackensack, New Jersey, and later lived in Alabama up until she chose five years ago to fly to Turkey, renounce her citizenship and join ISIS.

Now flash-forward to roughly six weeks ago, when she fled an ISIS-controlled village in Syria for unclear reasons and was subsequently captured by Kurdish forces and transferred to a camp.

The once-proud ISIS wife has since attempted to excuse her past behavior by citing youthful ignorance, religious piety and alleged brainwashing: “We were basically in the time of ignorance … and then became jihadi, if you like to describe it that way. I thought I was doing things correctly for the sake of God,” she said during an interview last week with The Guardian.

According to the Islamic religion, killing nonbelievers is mandatory for one to be a good Muslim.

“I look back now and I think I was very arrogant. Now I’m worried about my son’s future. In the end I didn’t have many friends left, because the more I talked about the oppression of ISIS the more I lost friends. I was brainwashed once and my friends are still brainwashed.”

However, the Islamic religion also calls for lying to nonbelievers to protect the Islamic faith, which raises the question over whether she’s lying now for sinister, terror-motivated reasons.

In an earlier interview with ABC News, Muthana appeared to excuse her prior attempts to incite violence in the U.S. by citing the death of one of her husbands, an ISIS fighter, on the battlefield.

“I was still at the peak of being brainwashed I guess and I had people all around me that were just widowed so we were very angry … because we were all just young girls married for the first time — most of us it was our first relationships — and then he just suddenly died,” she said.

When asked what sort of punishment she deserves for her treachery against the U.S., she said, “Maybe therapy lessons. Maybe a process that will ensure that we’ll never do this again.”

She also pushed back against her potential incarceration by seemingly suggesting that locking her up might encourage her to re-embrace terrorism: “Jail time, I don’t know if it has an effect on people. Sometimes it has a worse effect on people.”

HERE’S WHAT YOU’RE MISSING …

While it’s unclear whether her father’s suit even stands a chance in court, there’s definitely no chance that the president will change his mind.

Like Muslim reformist Zuhdi Jasser, a frequent critic of radical Islam, noted to Fox News earlier this week, “She became not only a terrorist — she became an enemy of our country, and if she did believe in the citizenship oath … she abandoned it and actually violated it and became an enemy combatant.”

And like the saying goes, once an enemy combatant, always an enemy combatant.
