Angel Moms take on rude Acosta after he challenges Trump on ‘manufacturing’ a border crisis

President Trump schooled CNN’s Jim Acosta after he asked a “fake question” with political intent about the situation at the U.S. southern border.

The president took questions in the Rose Garden on Friday immediately following his announcement that he would be declaring a national emergency to secure funding for a wall at U.S.-Mexico border. Acosta posed a question about the “disconnect” between Trump’s portrayal of the “invasion” at the border and the reporting and crime data that seem to contradict his argument.

After attempting to correct Acosta’s blatant attempt to accuse him of manufacturing the border crisis, Trump pressed the CNN correspondent to get to the point.

“What do you say to your critics who say that you are creating a national emergency, that you’re concocting a national emergency in order to get your wall because you couldn’t get it through other ways?” Acosta asked.

“I’ll ask the Angel Moms,” Trump replied.

“Do you think I’m creating something?” he said, turning to the mothers in attendance who have lost loved ones to violent crimes by illegal immigrants. “Ask these incredible women who lost their daughters and their sons.”

“Your question is a very political question, because you have an agenda. You’re CNN. You’re fake news,” the president told Acosta, directing him to look at the federal statistics which will back the president’s claims.

The reporter apparently took Trump’s advice and approached the women.

Acosta invited the families to appear with him on the air where they surrounded him with photos of their deceased loved-ones.

Acosta then delivered a somewhat apologetic segment, with the Angel Moms who effortlessly backed the president’s claims with the irrefutable truth of their own tragic experiences.

“You saw the moment when the president pointed to some of these ladies here so they can say the crimes that happened to our family members that those are real crimes,” Acosta said.

He was momentarily silenced when Agnes Gibboney, who shared that her only son was killed by an illegal immigrant, declared that Trump is “completely correct” on the issue.

“I’m a legal immigrant. My family came through the right channels. This is my only son Ronald da Silva who was murdered by a previous deported illegal alien,” she said. “We need to secure our borders to protect American citizens. President Trump is completely correct on this issue. We need to protect this country.”

Before Trump had taken to the podium to speak, Acosta was reporting that the mothers of children “allegedly” killed by illegal immigrants were on hand, having met with the president in the Oval Office before his speech.

“We saw people leaving the White House there with photos. Do we know who they are?” anchor Jim Sciutto asked from the CNN studio.

“Jim, we believe those are some of the Angel Moms that the president has talked so much about out on the campaign trail, at rallies and so on,” Acosta said. “These are parents of victims who were allegedly killed by undocumented immigrants. The president likes to point to these folks who have been through some terrible experiences as evidence a wall is needed down at the border.”
