Tucker Carlson is not caving in to advertiser boycotts, doubling down on his contention that illegal immigrants would make America “dirtier.”
The Fox News host noted the contradictory stands of the Democrats’ “Green New Deal” and their advocating for open borders, during a discussion with author and commentator, Mark Steyn on “Tucker Carlson Tonight.”
“You just pointed out,” Carlson said Monday, “I think a really important contradiction in this whole world view which is, you’re not going to have a cleaner country with open borders.”
“Not because immigrants are inherently dirty – I’m not saying that – but because over-crowded countries are dirty countries, period. Always,” Carlson clarified, as Steyn explained how the left continues to deny reality as Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has illustrated with the impractical goals of the proposed bill.
The Fox News host came under liberal backlash in December after factually stating the effects of illegal immigration, noting that “we have a moral obligation to admit the world’s poor, they tell us, even if it makes our own country poorer and dirtier and more divided.”
As advertisers caved in to the left’s hysteria over Carlson’s “racist” remarks, he doubled down in a follow-up, stating “That’s what we said. It’s true.”

With companies pulling their advertising from Carlson’s primetime Fox News show due to far-left pressure, conservatives stepped in and called for a counter-boycott.

“Those who won’t shut up get silenced,” Carlson said in December. “The enforcers scream ‘Racist!’ on Twitter until everybody gets intimidated and changes the subject to the Russia investigation or some other distraction. It’s a tactic, a well-worn one. Nobody thinks it’s real. And it won’t work with this show. We’re not intimidated. We plan to try to say what’s true until the last day.”
