Consistency is certainly not socialist congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s strong suit.
Only hours after the Democrat starlet admitted in a radio interview that her Green New Deal will require “massive government intervention” to enact, she said the exact opposite on national TV.
“One way that the right does try to mischaracterize what we’re doing as though it’s like some kind of massive government takeover,” she complained Thursday evening to MSNBC host Chuck Todd.
“Uh, obviously what we’re trying to do is, well obviously it’s not that because what we’re trying to do is release the investments from the federal government to mobilize those resources across the country.”
Less than 12 hours earlier, she’d said the opposite to Steve Inskeep, the host of NPR’s “Morning Edition.”
Listen:
“As you know, congresswoman, one reason that people who are politically conservative are skeptical of efforts to combat climate change is that it sounds to them like it requires massive government intervention which they just don’t like. Are you prepared to put on the table that yes, they’re actually right, what this requires is massive government intervention?” Inskeep asked her Thursday morning.
“It does,” the 29-year-old congresswoman replied. “It does. Yeah, I have no problem saying that.”
Wait, what … ?
While some have argued that a “massive government takeover” isn’t equivalent to “massive government intervention,” it’s a semantic point at best — one that discounts the facts.
Government intervention and government takeover are two different things https://t.co/ePSveLZURw

Ones a government takeover, the other is government intervention…..those are different…..aren’t they???
— Tom Boutsikaris (@TOMYBOOTS) February 8, 2019
“Government intervention” isn’t the same as “government takeover”
Also lol @ all you old white guys SO obsessed with this intelligent successful and beautiful Congresswoman. Your jealousy is so obvious ?
— And real (@andrealmccain) February 8, 2019
Don’t even need context. In one she says government intervention”, in the 2nd she says “government takeover”, two very different things. Doesn’t matter tho these people are gonna eat this shit right up.

In the first one she says government intervention, in the 2nd she says government takeover. Not the same thing.

Released Thursday afternoon, AOC’s New Green Deal calls for essentially redesigning America from top to bottom and creating a utopia where everybody is guaranteed a job (assuming they want one), in addition to free education, free healthcare, free housing, etc.
The radical plan also calls for eliminating combustion-engine vehicles (i.e., cars), airplanes, fossil fuel energy, nuclear energy, farting cows, meat and everything else that makes America great.
Now how do you suppose such lofty goals would be achieved? Via a tidal wave of government mandates that will skyrocket taxes, redistribute wealth and destroy whole industries, including but not limited to the fossil fuel industry and the automobile industry.
No matter whether you call this a government takeover or government intervention, the point remains the same: Just like a Communist dictator, AOC wants to leverage the power of government to force her radical agenda on every American citizen and American business, as noted by social media:
The Green New Deal is more like a broad and radical Progressive platform that would expand the reach of the Federal Government into almost ever minute detail of your life. #SocialismOrCommunism? https://t.co/OFI69hT4AQ

“At its best, ‘Green New Deal’ would waste trillions of dollars. At its worst, the attempt to implement the plan would massively expand the size and authority of a federal government with a more centralized, authoritarian nature.” #ampFW via @TPPF https://t.co/5DqoaVQn9g

“The Green New Deal resolution a 10-year plan to mobilize every aspect of American society at a scale not seen since World War 2…” – if this brand of authoritarian state socialism isn’t utterly horrifying to you…

A plan that one triple Energy prices to working class and authoritarian government deciding win or if we can drive cars and the dumb notion you can replace aircraft with 19th century technology trains? Altair in Rich left-wing donors like Al Gore and the green Crooks
— Jerry Axtell (@Gods4GOP) February 7, 2019
I would argue that AOC actually is a closet authoritarian.
Why?
Take AOC’s “New Green Deal” for example. Two things right off the bat. The government forcing you to buy a electric car by outlawing fossil fuel. The government forcing homeowners to convert to solar.

From ATR “Green New Deal: “Air Travel Stops Becoming Necessary”” https://t.co/63cfwabuXi So finally the idiot @AOC reveals her COMMUNIST/FASCIST Dictator plans
— tonyblass (@tonyblass) February 7, 2019
Her Green Plan is the purposeful destruction of capitalism and formation of a police state to enforce it.
And you think she’s doing great work. She’s a budding totalitarian dictator.
— Rick McCargar (@RickMcCargar) February 8, 2019
You’re a communist and you’re green new deal is a complete farce. You lust after the ability to control people through legislation. No one should respect a tyrant.

Ocasio-Cortez’s authoritarian tendencies make sense given her tacit support of Venezuelan dictator and tyrant Nicolás Maduro, who’s been condemned by President Donald Trump and his counterparts in Canada, Israel and other civilized nations over his numerous human rights offenses.
“Our office is monitoring it closely. I think that, you know, the humanitarian crisis is extremely concerning but, you know, when we use non-Democratic means to determine leadership, that’s also concerning, as well,” she said late last month to The Daily Caller.
She made the remarks amid a growing crisis in Venzuela over the latest presidential election, which Maduro won allegedly via cheating and fraud.
The citizens of Venezuela have suffered for too long at the hands of the illegitimate Maduro regime. Today, I have officially recognized the President of the Venezuelan National Assembly, Juan Guaido, as the Interim President of Venezuela. https://t.co/WItWPiG9jK
