As frigid temperatures descended on the Midwest, Illinois police thought they would inject some humor amid the dire warnings about the impending frost.
With wind chills in northern Illinois expected to fall to negative 55 degrees by Wednesday, Gov. J.B. Pritzker issued a disaster warning on Tuesday calling the weather “potentially historic,” according to Fox32 Chicago.

The McLean Police Department took to Facebook to let residents know that “all criminal activity and acts of stupidity and foolishness” were cancelled due to the extreme weather and even Elsa from Disney’s “Frozen” had been placed “under arrest” for her part in bringing on what is being called a polar vortex.
The staged arrest post noted that the Disney princess, inspired by the Snow Queen from the Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale, was being held “with NO BOND until further notice.”
The icy humor seemed to be appreciated by some who got in on the fun.
As a head of state, she has diplomatic immunity. #lethergo

Some Twitter users proved again how not everyone can just “let it go” and enjoy some humor.
This is really weird.

Schools in the Midwest closed through Thursday as services were suspended by both the U.S. Postal Service and Amtrak, the Chicago Tribune reported Wednesday.
Due to the extreme weather conditions caused by Winter Storm Jaden, we have temporarily suspended delivery service in certain locations to ensure the safety and well-being of our employees. Visit our Service Alerts page for more details. https://t.co/tUQeYYLl8g pic.twitter.com/M95kaHU4Y1

“Today’s about as cold as it can get in Chicago,” National Weather Service meteorologist, Matt Friedlein, said.
And while Illinois police were apprehending Elsa, a Missouri police department issued a different kind of notice, “asking a favor” of would-be criminals during the arctic freeze.
The Warrensburg Police Department asked: “can you keep the criminalling to a minimum?” in a Facebook post ahead of the epic weather conditions.
Joking that people should stay indoors and watch reruns of the TLC reality show “Say Yes to the Dress,” the post has had over 6,000 reactions on Facebook and gotten plenty of funny quips in return.
“What if we criminal out of town?” one user asked.
“This is the kind of weather for planning criminal activity, not executing said activity. Duh,” another commented.
