Democrat congresswoman Maxine Waters met with CBS News representatives Tuesday to discuss what appears to be a plan to impose racial quotas on the 91-year-old news corporation.
UPDATE: Within 24hrs of my Tweet, @CBSNews reps met w/ me on Capitol Hill.
CBS admitted they had a lot of work to do & committed to including Blacks on their 2020 election team & all other teams.
True diversity is the inclusion of ALL.

The meeting occurred a day after the race-obsessed Democrat complained on Twitter about the network’s alleged lack of black reporters on its 2020 election campaign coverage team.
According to far-left Democrats like Waters and newly elected House representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the pursuit of racial justice mandates that certain racial quotas be met:
CBS, the efforts on your website about your support for diversity fly in the face of your display of all of the reporters you’ve selected for the 2020 campaign. Not one Black. What’s up with this? An explanation is needed.

This WH admin has made having a functional understanding of race in America one of the most important core competencies for a political journalist to have, yet @CBSNews hasn’t assigned a *single* black journalist to cover the 2020 election.
Unacceptable in 2019. Try again. https://t.co/h7tmiBr9Fi

The radically far-left’s core contention seems to be that members of purportedly marginalized groups deserve to enjoy a certain level of representation in everything, including but not limited to in movies, in neighborhoods, at universities, at corporations and inside news rooms.
It’s unclear why, in the case of racial quotas for CBS, Waters and Ocasio-Cortez appear to only be concerned with black representation. What about Indians, Asians and Hispanics?
And what about other underrepresented groups such as those with physical handicaps and those with mental afflictions (including autism). Is race all that matters? Apparently so, according to Waters, Ocasio-Cortez and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.
“CBS News’ decision to not include Black reporters on their 2020 Election news team further proves the voting power and voices of Black America continue to be undervalued,” the NAACP said in a statement released Tuesday afternoon, hours before the California congresswoman’s meeting.
“As the voting bloc that will most certainly determine the direction of this country in the upcoming election, it is vital any and all media outlets have a diverse newsroom, including individuals of color in decision making positions to speak to and address the issues and concerns directly impacting the Black community.”
“Representation matters and the media needs our coverage on the issues to drive the discussion.”
It’s unclear why the NAACP believes votes from black Americans will have a greater impact on the next election than votes from whites, Asians, Hispanics and other racial/ethnic groups.

This desire for racial quotas speaks to a growing belief among the far-left that everything — the makeup of government, of schools, of newsroom, etc. — should revolve around race.
It’s a surprising belief given that leftists portray themselves champions of racial justice. Yet their beliefs sharply belie those of the greatest civil rights leader in American history, Martin Luther King Jr.
Prior to his assassination in 1968, MLK spoke of a dream of a future world where his childen would be judged by the content of their character, not the color of their skin.
…
Listen:
Fifty-one years later, this fundamental message appears entirely lost on the left. Perhaps then it’s time for a reminder? Social media users certainly believe so.
Look:
It’s the content of their character, not the color of their skin, remember @RepMaxineWaters? Shame on u. No big surprise, just lots of disappointment that u continually see it the opposite, speaking as a person of ‘color’. Sad… #LiberalismIsAMentalDisorder #MLK #MAGA https://t.co/5Tq0yG4Z1f

How about including people by merit not by color as MLK would want. You are a disgrace.

“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.” MLK

News flash…. you can have diversity in many ways, not just skin color. Isn’t that what MLK was trying to preach. But yet her we are people like you basing things 100% on race.
— Brock (@brockcantshoot) January 16, 2019
Hey Maxine…MLK said…”content of their character not the color of their skin”….???
— steve brown (@srb39) January 15, 2019
Guess MLK’s dream is dead.
— NC Devil Dog (@BBOWNC) January 14, 2019
Why diversity?
Can we no longer choose the best of the best without worrying what color they are?
Didn’t MLK dream of a day when his children would be judged by the content of their character and not the color of their skin?
Shouldn’t you be aware of this “Auntie” Maxine?
— rmarculis (@rmarculis) January 14, 2019
U know it’s racist to judge someone based on the color of their skin,. Did not Martin Luther King say that.. way to represent Maxine you are a racist according to Dr King.. quit hating America and American peeps please!

I have a dream that children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.
Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.

Will Waters and her peers listen, though? Probably not, given as one of the most telltale hallmarks of ignorance is an aversion to truth and an unwillingness to open ones ears and learn.
