Protests erupt when second black man found dead in prominent Dem donor’s home — in less than 2 years

In July 2017 a 26-year-old black man died of a drug overdose at the home of a prominent Democrat donor linked to former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Less than two years later, another black man whose name is being withheld but is reportedly in his 50s, died early Tuesday morning at the West Hollywood apartment of the same Democrat donor Ed Buck who contributed a large chunk of change to failed presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign.

“Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s West Hollywood station responded to the Laurel Avenue apartment complex at 1:05 a.m. in response to a report of a person not breathing,” the Los Angeles Times reported, citing a statement from local authorities.

“At some point, the 911 caller performed CPR, the department said. Paramedics pronounced a man dead at the scene. The cause of death was not yet known.”

Buck has denied responsibility for both deaths, but was at the scene each time, Los Angeles CBS, reported.

“From what I know, it was an old friend who died of an accidental overdose, and unfortunately, we believe that the substance was ingested at some place other than the apartment. The person came over intoxicated,” Buck’s attorney, Seymour Amster, has reportedly claimed.

This claim does not fit his client’s modus operandi.

Gemmel Moore, a male escort, died from a methamphetamine overdose at the apartment less than two years ago, and authorities found drug paraphernalia at the scene. Moore’s death was ruled accidental.

Moreover, Moore’s personal diary/journal was found to contain allegations that Buck had introduced him to methamphetamine: “I’ve become addicted to drugs and the worst one at that. Ed Buck is the one to thank. He gave me my first injection of crystal meth,” he reportedly wrote, according to the Advocate.

The Advocate, an LGBT magazine, maintains that the pattern fits with widespread claims by “numerous young black gay men” that the Democrat donor “has a fetish for shooting drugs into black men he picks up off the street or on hookup sites.”

Despite all the evidence against him, local prosecutors chose not charge him for Moore’s death. Community activists have and continue to maintain that Buck was let off the hook because of his contributions to powerful political figures like Clinton, among others.

“Community activists like Jasmyne Cannick have accused Los Angeles officials of declining to prosecute Buck in 2017 thanks to his contributions to powerful politicians such as Hillary Clinton, California Gov. Jerry Brown, L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti, and numerous West Hollywood City Council members,” The Advocate reported.

The death of another black man at his home has only served to aggravate them further.

“The death of another young Black man in the West Hollywood home of prominent Democratic donor Ed Buck is on the hands of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and District Attorney Jackie Lacey,” Cannick said in a lengthy Twitter statement early Tuesday evening.

Later that evening she organized a protest outside Buck’s West Hollywood apartment.

“Arrest Ed Buck, prosecute Ed Buck, and then a jury needs to convict Ed Buck,” one activist at the demonstration reportedly said, according to Fox News.

“This man is a danger to our community,” another added.
