‘The Notebook’ actress Rachel McAdams sets off firestorm with sexy breast-pumping photo – in diamonds and Versace

Actress Rachel McAdams set off a firestorm of reaction after a photo of her was posted complete with diamonds, designer clothes and … breast pump.

The 40-year-old Canadian actress, who gave birth to her first child in April, was featured in the unconventional photo shoot for Girls. Girls. Girls. magazine.

Claire Rothstein, the magazine’s editor and founder, posted the eyebrow-raising photo of McAdams using the pump while wearing Versace and Bulgari diamonds. Her caption added even more to the explosive reaction online.

“Breastfeeding is the most normal thing in the world and I can’t for the life of me imagine why or how it is ever frowned upon or scared of,” Rothstein wrote. “I don’t even think it needs explaining but just wanted to put this out there, as if it even changes one person’s perception of something so natural, so normal, so amazing then that’s great.”

“Besides she’s wearing Versace and [Bulgari] diamonds and is just f***ing major. Big shout out to all the girls,”  she added. “Side note: I did not look anywhere near as fabulous as this when feeding/pumping. And that’s ok too.”

Meanwhile the photo of the “Mean Girls” actress, who is also known for starring in “The Notebook” and “Wedding Crashers,” sparked radically different reactions on social media as it quickly went viral.

Feminists and liberals found the image empowering and applauded the message it sent.

“This is all the vibes,” exclaimed “Pretty Little Liars” actress Troian Bellisario.

Salon reporter Shira Tarlo declared that the photo was proof that “women really can have it all.”

Actress Sasha Perl-Raver raved about the photo which she called “Sexy. Fly. Strong. Empowered. Beautiful.”

Others also showered the image, and the actress, with praise.

But many others on Twitter slammed the photo for being blatantly out-of-touch and “unattainable.”

Daily Wire Editor-in-Chief Ben Shapiro weighed in as well.
