CNN fired commentator Marc Lamont Hill amid uproar over an inflammatory speech he gave at the United Nations that many perceived to be an anti-Semitic dog whistle calling for the elimination of Israel.
In a terse, one-sentence statement, CNN said: “Marc Lamont Hill is no longer under contract with CNN.”
The liberal network did not elaborate on Hill’s firing — nor did it condemn his anti-Israel comments. As BizPac Review reported, Hill appeared to endorse violence against Israel and call for the destruction of the nation-state.
CNN’s uncharacteristic reticence about Hill’s anti-Semitic comments is a stark contrast to its around-the-clock condemnations of President Trump and his supporters as racist, white supremacist, anti-Semitic xenophobes.

In fact, CNN repeatedly suggested Trump is anti-Semitic and blamed him for the October 2018 massacre at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh.
In reality, the shooting was committed by an anti-Semite who hated Trump for being pro-Israel. So CNN’s terse statement on Marc Lamont Hill’s history of anti-Semitism is ironically remarkable.
During his United Nations speech, Hill refused to drink “Israeli water,” saying he had just gotten off a flight from Palestine and was “boycotting the Israeli water.”
Anne Bayefsky, director of the Touro Institute on Human Rights and the Holocaust, told Fox News that Hill’s speech was unmistakably anti-Semitic.
“[It was an] especially obscene U.N. moment that reveals the true nature of the anti-Israel and anti-Jewish animus of the modern United Nations,” Bayefsky said. “Hill’s call at the United Nations for the destruction of the Jewish state was not some accident.”

The Hill’s media reporter, Joe Concha, said firing Hill does not change CNN’s underlying problem — which is leftist activists masquerading as “objective journalists.”
“Obviously, he had to be fired in the situation,” Concha told Fox News host Sean Hannity. “[He said] ‘free Palestine from the river to the sea.’ That is right out of a script that calls for the annihilation of Israel.”
“But here’s the thing: CNN has 40 to 50 contributors underneath their umbrella. Firing him isn’t that hard of a thing to do because you have a dozen other people you can just plug in.”
Hannity agreed that CNN has a credibility problem. “They say they’re news,” Hannity said. “But they are dishonest.”
Sean has repeatedly pointed out that he and Tucker Carlson are opinion commentators who don’t hide their political stances. Joe Concha explained:
“That is the thing. If we are talking about a Don Lemon, he is called an ‘anchor’ on the network. But he is someone who gives opinions. It gets confusing after a while. The same with Anderson Cooper and Chris Cuomo.
They [call themselves] ‘anchors.’ Therefore, they should be in there asking questions and gathering information. Or Jim Acosta — he should be at the White House asking questions and gathering information. But all these people share their innermost feelings on certain topics, their emotions. They debate in certain situations.
That is not what their job is, and that is where mistrust comes with people watching at home. They don’t know who the anchors are from the opinion people anymore.”
Remember this? CNN still employs this guy:
