Even with more irregularities and mistakes continually appearing in Broward County, where thanks to local election officials’ gross incompetence one statewide senatorial election still remains uncalled, some officials remain in stark denial about the realities of what’s happening.
Broward County elections supervisor elections supervisor Brenda Snipes in particular seems to think all the hubbub about her department’s never-ending errors is no big deal — and that the growing backlash against her is therefore rooted in nothing but age-old racism.
“A top elections official in Florida who endured national humiliation after missing a midterms recount deadline by two minutes has told the Guardian that racism is ‘probably’ a factor in the backlash against her,” The Guardian reported following a Saturday morning interview with Snipes.
Her attempt to abdicate her responsibility for the county’s endless problems prompted hundreds (if not thousands) to castigate her on social media for using the “race card.”

The fact that Snipes missed the midterms recount deadline was just one of many mistakes. Hours after her interview with The Guardian, a report surfaced that she’d misplaced over 2,000 ballots.
“Election workers in Snipes office told Breitbart News that Snipes and her team are scouring the office building, located inside a strip mall in Lauderhill adjacent to a Dunkin’ Donuts and Winn-Dixie grocery store. The workers spoke on condition that their names be withheld,” Breitbart confirmed.

By Sunday morning it was unclear whether the ballots had been found yet, though ultimately it didn’t even matter since even more problems had since emerged.
“Fresh off its bungled machine recount, Broward County’s second day of manual recounting temporarily stopped about an hour after it began Saturday when lawyers from both political parties pointed out that volunteers were counting the wrong ballots,” Fox News reported Saturday afternoon.
*facepalm*
This comes amid Broward County already being caught transporting ballots in private trucks at the dead of night, “accidentally” mixing bad ballots with good ones and missing the recount deadline.

Yet according to Snipes, the mounting criticism against her is much ado about nothing but racism. While many view this as just as excuse for her incompetence, what remains unclear is whether her incompetence is purposeful or just “accidental.” The evidence suggests it could be the former.
In May a judge ruled that Snipes, a Democrat, had violated state and federal laws by illegally destroying ballots for the 2016 congressional primary race between her leftist ally, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, and Tim Canova, who ran as an Independent.
Later this year in August, a judge again ruled against Snipes after the Florida GOP reportedly filed a suit against her claiming her office “was opening ballots in private, preventing people from challenging if they were properly cast,” according to Fox News.
“And then in 2016, Broward County violated the law when it posted early voting results online before polls even closed,” the outlet added.
The evidence lends Snipes the appearance of a “serial election rigger,” as former Florida Democrat congressional candidate Tim Canova put it during an interview earlier this month.

Yet like many other Democrat officials and political figures before her, Snipes continues to claim it’s all about racism, not that too many people (if any at all) appear to believe her.
