John Kerry couldn’t ignore a jab from Greg Gutfeld and traded insults with the Fox News host on Twitter.
The former secretary of state blasted Gutfeld as a “complete fool” after his Veterans Day tweet suggesting Kerry should “plug your knothole.”

Kerry sparked the comment after rebuking President Donald Trump for deciding against a visit to a World War I cemetery near Paris on Saturday because of rain.
President @realDonaldTrump a no-show because of raindrops? Those veterans the president didn’t bother to honor fought in the rain, in the mud, in the snow – & many died in trenches for the cause of freedom. Rain didn’t stop them & it shouldn’t have stopped an American president.

The 74-year-old former Massachusetts senator apparently had no regard for the helicopters carrying the presidential delegation and dozens of others that would have been affected by the weather as well. Trump was criticized for the decision and for not taking a motorcade to the Aisne-Marne American cemetery and memorial at Belleau.
Gutfeld fired a shot at Kerry on Twitter, referring to the time he was mocked for bringing singer James Taylor rather than a top US official to a Paris anti-terrorism rally in 2015.
“U didn’t stop ISIS. you sent James Taylor. Plug your knothole, Captain Driftwood,” Gutfeld tweeted.
The former secretary of state fired back at the Fox News host.
Happy Veterans Day, Greg. I’m glad that all of us who served in uniform fought to defend your freedom to be a complete fool on Twitter. #freedomisntfree https://t.co/LFUrXDWt8E

Not missing an opportunity to troll Kerry in return, Gutfeld offered a simple response: a link to a video of Taylor singing his version of the Carole King song “You’ve Got a Friend,” which he sang in France.

Twitter users enjoyed the exchange and added their own jabs at Kerry for attacking Trump.
Thankful for all Veterans.
I also would like to say @greggutfeld is awesome.— Camden Forse (@cforse1500) November 11, 2018
Did John Kerry forget that he’s John Kerry?

I’m thinking a lot of Vietnam Vets said the same thing about you when you went before Congress and compared them to Genghis Khan.

Says the fool who threw his (self-recommended) medals over the fence and instituted a “movement” that helped demean, demoralize, and dis-enfranchise returning Vietnam War veterans.

Dear Mr. Kerry, I am a Vietnam Vet who turned down a Purple Heart because I did not think my injury warranted the honor. I love Greg Gutfeld because he tells truth to power and you, my dear sir, are the fool on the hill in every way…
