Racist? Sexist? Agest? Do tell. PBC elections head says critics ‘don’t like demographics of our county, and you know why’

According to Palm Beach County elections supervisor Susan Bucher, concerns about her and Broward County elections supervisor Brenda Snipes’ slow counting of election votes and lack of transparency stem from people’s dislike of their respective counties’ demographics.

“It’s very unfortunate that some of the highest elected officials in our country are trying to disrupt our democracy because they don’t like the demographics of our voters,” she said Friday. “I would wish they would allow us to continue to count the ballots. We’re just doing our job in accordance with law.”

When asked to clarify what she meant by demographics, she replied, “The demographics of our county — they don’t like them, and you know why.”

Listen:

Investopedia defines demographics as “the study of a population based on factors such as age, race and sex.” Most presume Bucher meant race, though it remains unclear why race would be relevant given that both Palm Beach County and Broward County are predominantly white.

Those complaining about Bucher and Snipes allege that voter fraud may be occurring. While there’s no evidence of Bucher ever committing fraud, there’s ample evidence demonstrating Snipes’ proclivity for it.

In May a judge ruled that Snipes, a Democrat, had violated state and federal laws by illegally destroying ballots for the 2016 congressional primary race between her leftist ally, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, and Tim Canova, who ran as an Independent.

Later this year in August, a judge again ruled against Snipes after the Florida GOP reportedly filed a suit against her claiming her office “was opening ballots in private, preventing people from challenging if they were properly cast,” according to Fox News.

“And then in 2016, Broward County violated the law when it posted early voting results online before polls even closed,” the outlet added.

Because of this behavior, Florida officials including Gov. Rick Scott suspect that the strange activity seen this week in Broward County — such as ballots being transported in private vehicles in the dead of night — are part of an effort by Snipes to alter the election results:

In Bucher’s case, columnist Philip Wegmann of the Washington Examiner suspects her recent behavior stems from simple incompetence and nothing more.

“Bucher is just demonstrably incompetent and obviously in violation of state law,” he opined Friday. “The colorblind law validates the criticism of Bucher.”

“According to Title IX, Chapter 102 of the 2018 Florida Statutes, she isn’t doing her job. The law stipulates that all early voting and all vote-by-mail results be reported to the “Department of State within 30 minutes after the polls close. This did not happen. Instead, three days after Election Day, no one even knows how many votes are left to be counted.”

There’s only one problem with this theory: It fails to take into consideration her unwillingness to be transparent. On Friday she threatened to arrest reporters who dared to record her election officials counting and reviewing ballots during a public meeting.

Later in the evening she defied court orders to submit “overvoted” and “undervoted” absentee ballots to the Palm Beach County Canvassing Board for an open review.

Her continued intransigence has led many to speculate that she may be just as corrupt as Snipes.

Some have also pointed out that Bucher’s race-baiting rhetoric bears a striking similarity to the rhetoric of America’s most notorious and corrupt race hustler, Rev. Al Sharpton.
