Fox & Friends features ‘independents’ who say just let the poor ‘unarmed’ migrants in. They’re ‘human beings’

“Fox & Friends” featured a panel of independent voters Monday morning who were asked about the invading caravan of illegal immigrants from Central America and the results speak more to how the liberal media covers the story than it does to the political implications.

The independent voters say they reject the fear-mongering from the right over a small army of migrants from Central America forcing their way toward the United States, saying a humanitarian crisis justifies their actions.

Fox News showcasing voters who hold such a differing viewpoint from what most of the network’s viewers believe being a break — although, it would appear the network found four liberal independents.

Host Steve Doocy pointed out that the caravan may currently be 7,000 strong, asking if uneven U.S. immigration laws are a problem.

“I think uneven immigration laws are a problem for any country,” the first panelist said. “And I think our immigration laws need to be modernized and updated. But this country is founded on immigration. And all of us come from immigrants.”

Never mind that we take in more legal immigrants per year than every other country in the world combined — more than 1 million annually — which exposes the man’s limited grasp of the topic.

Even though Doocy stressed the caravan could number 20,000 people when it reaches the southern border, the man had no problems with the invading horde.

“This is the mightiest country on the planet,” the man declared. “I think we can handle a caravan of people, unarmed, coming to this country.”

The woman on the panel said the immigration crisis was a bipartisan problem and it should not be treated like a “political football.”

Another panelist agreed with that assessment.

“There’s a humanitarian crisis taking place in Central America,” he explained. “And yet, this issue gets turned into a complete political football. There’s very little honest discussion about what’s actually happening, it gets turned into talking points.”

The other man on the panel said the migrants being exploited by outside sources are “human beings” — which apparently means we should open our doors to the other 7+ billion people in the world.

“Treating this as an ‘invasion’ is a bad idea and it’s going to end horribly,” he insisted. “People have to realize these are human beings coming here, and there needs to be a real solution offered in dealing with it.”
